Hello...I'm new around here
25 Feb 2013, 10:26
Just sayin' hi really... Today's my first day of serious fasting (did a trial day a couple of weeks ago to see if I could do it...) This morning I got up and weighed myself and knew today was the day it had to begin!

A huge glass of water and a cup of herbal tea is all I've had so far...I'm used to starving myself for diets in the past. The joy of this is knowing I can actually eat tomorrow! And I'm very excited to find this forum so I can get to know other people on the same journey as me!

So hello everyone! :D

Hi Becca,
I'm only on my second fast day, but have discovered that the later I leave it until waking up Annie appetite the easier I find it. I've also found Bovil brilliant to help keep me on the straight and narrow.
Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome everyone and best of luck to you too! :-)

I think you're right, Claire, it's better to leave it until later in the day. Which is hard for me because I've eaten breakfast more or less every day of my life!

Unfortunately, I'm a veggie so I can't have Bovril. But herbal tea is doing me well so far, mostly because it's warm I think. I'm hoping to save my calories for my evening meal...

Hope you're all doing well today! I'm sure we'll all reach our targets...best to think positive! ;)

Thanks Becca. I'm veggie too but have been drinking half a knorr veg stock cube (and water obviously!)last week to curb hunger and it really worked. I got the idea from this forum and didn't fancy drinking stock at all but it was actually really nice and did the job nicely.

What are you going to eat? I've had boiled eggs and toast for brekkie and going to have veggie stir fry with quorn (or a mixed grill of veggie sausage, tomatoes and portabello's). I'm probably going to do 600 cals as I overdid the dieting a bit last week. Actually typing that is making me hungry so I'm off for a walk and will check in later...

good luck x

Hi Vino,

Good tip on the Knorr stock cube, thanks. I have to say, it sounds revolting, but I'll willing to try it!

My plan for this evening is stir fry, with quorn and maybe a few noodles. I'm cooking for my boyfriend too (I do most evenings) so I'm adapting his meal into a low calorie version for me!

I'm starting to get really hungry now...another cup of herbal tea is beckoning I think...and then maybe a walk...

Hope you're doing okay and the walk helped your hunger! :-) x

Hi - yes try it! I thought it sounded revolting too (but for some strange reason decided to try it!)

Walk was great. Meant to go out for 20mins but ended up doing 55mins. Had a wobble when I could smell chips from the pub I walked past though!

I'm working from home and alternating between peppermint tea, fresh coffee and water. Between making cuppas, going to the toilet, posing on here and walking there isn't really time to do any work :-)

Amazingly managed lunchtime no bother, bit hungry now but manageable. Stomach rumbles gettting LOUD :-) x

Erm, posting - not posing. Duh!

Hehe, "posing" on here made me laugh! :-)

How did it go yesterday? I was fine until early evening. When I walked up to meet my boyfriend after work (it's all uphill!) I was more tired than usual (and had to walk past a chippy!) and then desperate for my dinner when I got home. I made the stir fry and it was really hard not to have too many noodles. I had an Options hot chocolate afterwards since my sweet tooth was nagging me...

Strangely, soon after eating I got a headache that didn't go away until I went to sleep...Not sure if it's related to the fast or not...

I am very happy to see my breakfast this morning :-) Next fast day will be Thursday...

Hope you have a great Tuesday! :-D
Bought the book, read it from cover to cover, was a little nervous before starting but finding it brilliant. Husband also happy to join me although he has less to lose. This is so sustainable and I can learn so much from you all.

Hi Becca

It went pretty well and amazingly I managed not to eat a single thing in between breakfast and 8.15pm. But my god, me eating that dinner was not a pretty sight! I actually licked every last calorie off the plate! My other half found that highly amusing and sadly it didn't help with my campaign to get him on 5:2.

Hardest part was making the kids dinner at 5 ish. Had to take care not to drool on it. I still felt hungry after dinner but it was only 185 cals as I ate 322 for breakfast. Must leave more for dinner next time! Had a slight headache but overall felt good.

Also meant to say I had a 45 minute walk at lunchtime (more of a wierd march really!) Felt full of energy. I dont think I would have had the same energy after work though as I felt tired then too.

And hello Swanley - how did you get your man on the diet ;-) Mine doesnt have much to lose either - just cutting the red wine and coke guzzling would do it for him. I want him to do it for the health benefits tho. It would be so selfish of him to die before me:-)
