4:3 starting this week

Good morning
After purchasing the book and seeing the programme last year I didn't realise the benefits of this diet, so here goes today. I'm off. I've decided to go for 4:3 as am on holiday in
May but have quite a few weekend celebrations this month so am hoping that three fast days will work for me to get the pounds off and the fat around my apple shape moved. Don't know whether to have just one meal or two meals per day. Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Kimmy, I'm doing 4:3 too. I'm unusual in that I eat my 400 cals over three small meals. I find that I get far less hungry like that. A lot of people have two or just one meal in the evening. It all depends what suits you so might be worth ou experimenting a bit. Good luck!

Have a play with the Progress Tracker and see if you need to. I do ADF so I shouldn't really comment on frequency but I personally don't lose weight faster than people on 5:2.

This tends to be a slower way to lose weight in general (therefore hard to see measurable progress) and often inches are lost, rather than pounds.

So take a waist measurement...in addition to weighing yourself.

I have lunch and tea, with a snack at 9 pm.

Hi BBT053...have you tried 5:2 to see if your weight loss is much slower? Although the progress tracker shows that people fasting more often do not seem to be losing weight much more quickly, it could be that those people have chosen to do 4:3 or ADF because of slow weight loss for whatever reason (thyroid problems perhaps), so in fact more frequent fasts are more effective but it is hidden by the underlying characteristics of the participants. What's your feeling?
