hi, This is my second week of fasting and in the first week I lost 3lbs.This week not so good but I have had two weekends where I have had two celebration meals and puddings.I normally fast on a Monday and Thursday but this week it will be Monday and Wednesday because I am going out for another meal on Thursday.I just wanted to know if we have to count calories on a non fast day or can we eat what we want. I have noticed that I am getting fuller much quicker this week . Thank you all and good luck.I hope I lose enough not to get disheartened,
No need to count calories on feast days unless you haven't lost weight for several weeks and need to check what your weekly calorie intake is.

Go for it!
Thanks for that.Makes me feel a lot better about the food I eat on a non fast day.Cheers.Good luck to all.
I've been eating what I like on non fast days, but have found for the last 2 weeks that I haven't lost any weight. I'm fasting 3 days of the week, and did lose weight in the first 4 weeks, but don't understand why it has stopped now. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, does anyone else have similar experiences?
As you get slimmer you need less calories to run your body so you need to reduce your portion sizes to match. Check your TDEE and compare with what you estimate your intake on a feed day is. If you are already eating well below TDEE, you might have to look at the balance of carbs, fats and protein on fast days and at least some feed days. Let us know what your TDEE vs actual intake is and we'll have a think.
Ok, thanks Caro. I checked again, and fitness frog says my TDEE is 1800 calories, and on fast days I have been eating 500 calories, and most days I would say that I eat less slightly less than that amount. However.. some weekend days recently I have been eating chocolate a bit more liberally than usual..so maybe this is bringing my tdee over. I wonder if, psychologically I have been thinking 'right, fast day tomorrow, quick, eat as much as possible before I have to fast again'! This might not be helping! :) Thanks for looking into it for me, and best of luck to everybody else.
As a newbie, this is exactly why I do count calories (with MFP) even though I know lots of yoyo dieters can't bear to. It's all new to me and strangely fascinating. Today I def ate too much, but still feel in control because I know it's not the end of the world. The flexibility of this WOE is really good. Mind you, I still blame OH for buying the jam and cream scones AND for suggesting wine. On a Tuesday!!
