Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

I'm going away in 4 weeks time. It'll be hot & I'll need to wear my summer clothes . Tonight 'big mistake' I tried a pair of trousers on. Last year they fitted lovely. Tonight - blimey, couldn't do them up. CAN I DO IT, CAN i GET INTO THEM IN TIME ? I do not want to buy 'big' clothes. :dazed:
gizza clue ! How much you looking to lose - 4 lbs in 4 weeks is a reasonable expectation, is that any good ?

Where are you starting from, what do yo ueat, etc etc
Make it a mission and try and find out if you can!

Just be realistic, it took you a while to get to the size you are now, so it might take some time to lose it as well.

Let us know if it works out, we`re here for support!
Thank you. I need to get 7lb+ off atleast. I eat, i guess around 1500 cals on non fast days. Go running 3 times a week. Busy on my feet. At home & work. Everyday.
Fingers crossed. I'll keep you posted.
It is possible, but you will have to be very strict and I'm not sure the 5:2 will give you that much weight loss. I've lost 4,5kgs over 5 weeks but some of this was due to the fact I was ill so couldn't eat for a few days. My clothes are now very loose.
It is possible but it depends on your body and exercise... I have lost 10lb in 2 weeks and I haven't done my normal running or anything. Though it depends on your starting weight as well, lighter you are normally the harder it is to lose. =)
It depends on how much weight you have to lose overall. It's well possible to lose around a stone in 5-6 weeks if you've got a few you can stand to lose. If you tell us a bit more about your size/weight/height/age etc we may be able to have a look on the progress tracker and check the graphs for what loss you can realistically expect in 4 weeks.

Another thing you could do just before you go on holiday - (and it is by no means a long term solution or an alternative to a healthy way of life!) is to use something like the Universal Contour Wrap by Germaine de Cappucini or the ActiDerm wrap kit. I've used both - the contour wrap is a bit messier as it's clay based but it does tighten you up nicely for a week or so (longer, if you keep to a healthy lifestyle) and the Actiderm one I found was almost as effective and much less messy. Might just be enough to help you get back into those clothes in the short term.

The clay one was highly sung on Supersize vs Superskinny when they had a lady trying out a lot of 'quick' inch loss methods. I'd already been using it for years (first tried in around '04) so was pleased to see it rating well.

Again, I must say that these products are not a long term fix and are no alternative to a healthy lifestyle! Just a quick, temporary fix, and not cheap one at that (around £40-50 for a starter kit).
