Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

New starter :-)
07 Mar 2013, 01:07
Hi everyone!

This is my first week on 5:2 and I'm on my 2nd fast day of the week today. The first one went ok and i am looking forward to seeing the results when I get weighed after a full week.

Notice people are using MyFitnessPal - for any Aussies out there I've found EasyDietDiary app (its free) which is also very simple to use and caters for Aus brands.

Now off for some more exercise today - every bit helps!

Hi
I'm also a new starter, did my first fast day yesterday, which I found quite easy, not sure when I should start eating again, should I just eat normally today? Or should I wait until later in the day, perhaps I should read bait more about it!

Hi wonderwoman (I have to sing your user name in my head to the tune of the old wonder woman series )

Probably you've already decided whether to eat breakfast! If you don't feel like eating, it's ok to eat a bit later but it is best if over the day you eat more or less up to your daily calorie requirement so you get a nice big difference between intake on feed days and fast days. I usually have a late breakfast that is smaller than normal because I found that eating a normal breakfast at the normal time on the first feed day left my stomach hurting!

Hello i'm new too! I haven't even bought/read the book yet but so excited to get started after chatting to a friend last night. I'm off to WH Smiths at lunch time to get the book (hopefully in stock) and will read up tonight. Any suggestions for when i should actually kick start this? My friend reccommends fasting on a Mon (easy after a good weekend) and Thurs (knowing you have the weekend to look forward to!)but i obviously want to read up before starting on a fast day :-)

Is it a good idea to gear up to my first fast on Monday?

Wooo this is exciting!!

Hi
I'm going to try and stick to Wed & Fri as these are my busiest days, thought it would help as I won't have time to think about what I'm not eating!
