Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!
If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!
Many of us have struggling to keep at other diets in the long term, 5:2 really does seem to be the answer. I've been doing this 7 months now and still love it I'm sure you'll be able to shift that weight in plenty of time for your daughter's wedding and hopefully a good few lbs before your holiday!
If you have a medical condition, it's always a good idea to discuss it with your doctor. I don't know much about anemia, so I'm afraid my advice isn't worth much.
How quickly does iron deplete itself from the bloodstream? Is there a reason you can't eat iron-rich foods for your 500 calories and/or take an iron supplement with your meal on your fast days? Perhaps a lovely spinach salad with a small steak on it?
But it's good to see another American here!
What Tracie said!
You can have a heck of a lot of vegetables for 500 cals so on a fast day I usually have just one meal of a small amount of chicken or fish with a huge plate of veg. So I feel that my fast days are probably the most healthy days of the week!
