Newbie-how do you fast?

Hi!
I am new to the forums, I started a week ago. I fasted when I was younger and found that having dinner the night before and then not eating anything until having a normal dinner the next night worked then. I am doing that again, I started a week ago, and I'm wondering what people's opinions were. And what everyone else is doing? Is anyone else doing something different to the 500 cals spread throughout the day? I also hope to start off at 3 days a week.

Hi Pay Day & welcome :)

Many of us are doing the same thing - fasing from dinner the night before until dinner on the fast day, when we then consume up to 500 cals (sometimes I only need 300 or so if I have a huge salad!).

The stats we've gathered in the Progress Tracker so far suggest there's only a negligible difference between doing 5:2 and 4:3, at least in women (the few men we have stats for seem to have done better with 4:3), so you may find it best to start with 5:2 and save 4:3 for those weeks when you feel you've overindulged on your feed days or when those scales just aren't shifting!

Good luck Pay Day :like: . I also do the same. Have my dinner at 6pm on Mondays and Wednesdays then only have water and/or black tea/coffee until 6pm on Tuesday and Thursday when I have a normal meal with lots of vegetables. Been a huge success for me and I hope it works for you.

Thanks, we'll see how this week goes. My first meal after a fast is pretty freakin huge!
