Hey everyone, planning my first fast day on Monday. Worried about loud rumbling tum during quiet times at work so would welcome your tips to avoid this. Looking forward to the health benefits but also the weight loss! Also worried about how to spin this to my 9 year old as I don't want to pass on my food hang ups :geek:

Rumbling tums are sometimes quietened with a herbal tea or suchlike.

My husband and I fast during the day and we eat a pretty normal looking (but veg heavy) dinner with our skinny 12 year old. It's pretty obvious we're overweight, so if he asks why we're not having potatoes like he is, we just say "oh we're dieting today" and that's usually the end of it. Occasionally, I have had to ask him to please not eat a cookie on my lap on a day when I'm dieting. Really, kids are so self absorbed that if you don't make a big deal out of it, he won't make a big deal out of it ;-)

Pretty sure my DS hasn't noticed! We have a family meal on a fast day but I have more veg and no potatoes than him.

I just went for it today instead, no time like the present, and found it surprisingly doable. No wonder it's such a popular diet :). That said I've just put myself to bed to avoid temptation!
