Headaches at end of fast days??
18 Mar 2013, 22:09
Hi everyone!

I have been doing the fast diet for two weeks now and I find it fine until the end of the fast day when I always get a headache. Any tips? I drink loads of water all day but the end of the day I feel tired, weak and headachey. Is this normal?

Thank you!
I did too for the first 2 fasts, I believe mine were caffeine relates so if I really crave it, I have a tea with a little milk. Since then, no headaches!
I don't know if it's normal but it's definitely how I felt at the beginning. I'm tired today but I have been very active. The headaches aren't as anywhere near as bad now and I've done 13 fasts so far (that's 19,500 fewer calories! o.O)
Well I think that's normal but you still need to be careful about your diet plan because it may harm your health.
The headaches may be due to salt loss if you have been drinking a lot. The salt gets "washed" out! Try having a salty drink like oxo, bovril, vegetable stock or similar (though perhaps not if you have high blood pressure).
I too was prone to headaches in the beginning, so much so that I'd go straight home from work to bed on a fast day - not good. I thought it was caffeine related and so kept up my tea intake (with smallest amount of milk and a sweetener) - that seemed to sort it out - but now, so many months into this WOL I think it was simply my body adjusting to it all (I'm sure it was surprised by all the lovely healthy veg soup it was having on fast days ) - no headaches now at all on fast days - so stick with it, give your body some time to adjust to all of this. Good luck, hope it goes well for you :clover:
