Hi everyone

Hi my name is Tracey and I am a 49 year old over weight menopausal new recruit to the fast diet. :)
As most of you, I have tried every other diet/healthy eating regime under the sun and always put the weight back on.
I am looking forward to loosing approx 1.5 st, however I am really interested in how fasting allows the body to repair. I recently lost my dad to motor neurone disease with linked dimentia and have found out that it is in fact hereditary.

I am aiming to do 4:3 for 2 weeks as I am flying out to India on 23/2 so would like to have a jump start with the weight loss. I would really appreciate any advice as I am an emotional eater and a boredom eater.

Lovely to meet you all.

Hi Tracey and welcome to the forums!

A trip to India? That sounds exciting. I've heard that a trip to India can help with weight loss!!!

There are lots of people on here who can give you some good advice. To get you started, have a quick look at the answers in the FAQ document here.

Regarding the emotional/boredom eating, I know exactly what you mean. However, this diet seems to do something to one's brain because after a few weeks you find yourself eating sensibly, refusing food if not hungry and eating much smaller portions! It is amazing and I don't know if it simply because you are not really on a 'diet' at all or whether it is a direct result of fasting. Or both. Whatever the reason, it is most welcome!
