Hello. I began the diet on August 7 2012 and have lost two stone. I have also dispensed, under medical supervision, with my need to take blood pressure medication and statins. I want to begin weight maintenance, but don't want to jeopardize my medical gains. any advice?

Hi Windy

Congrats on your weight loss and coming of the meds...that's really great!

As far as maintenance goes, you could start by either increasing your fast day calories or just fasting once a week. I eat all my 500 cals in the evening after fasting for 24 hours so if/when I reach my target my plan is to eat a normal dinner instead of a 500 cal and to continue to fast twice a week. If I were to continue to lose weight I'd probably alternate weeks with 1 or 2 fasts.

I think if you monitor your weight closely you can be quite flexible.

Good luck with it!
