Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I've just started the 5:2 diet this week and joined the forums for some extra support! :like:

I'm not looking to lose a huge amount of weight but a stone would be great as I've been slowly been putting on the pounds over the past couple of years. Every other calorie controlled diet I've been on I've failed and given up at because it makes me miserable if I have to go weeks without any treats (hate it when everyone else can eat what they want and I have to have something tiny and restricted in calories! :curse: ).

But this looks do-able as I can still have my treats on the eating days! My first fast day was Thursday and my second is today and I can honestly say I'm finding it easy so far, although I am worrying I'm still not going to lose anything when I weigh myself Thursday..

Hope it works! I'm feeling positive!
Hi, I am just going into week 4 from tomorrow and have lost half a stone to date, will weigh in again tomorrow morning. It is a good "diet" plan to follow, & great as yes you can still have your treats, such as a bar of chocolate or a glass of wine, and still lose weight. Mind you i have swapped my larger bar of dairy milk for a more modest cadburys fudge or curly wurly as they are only 115 calories each. My fast days are Monday Thursday, I dont find it a problem. Good luck, & I am sure the pounds will drop off for you just the same.
Hi,
I have just started too and today is my first fast day. I have quite a bit of weight to lose (at least 4 stone!) so hope this is going to be the way to do it!
Good luck

Hi,

Just started 2 weeks ago and find it ok at the moment. just wanted something that was sustainable and easy to follow but still not sure what i would expect to lose providing i`m following the rules.
Welcome to the forums, Bayneclan
Hi Bayneclan

The average loss per week according to out progress tracker is 1 lb. However for most people it is not so steady...3 lb lost then nothing for a couple of weeks then another 2 lb, that kind of thing. It is a long term thing not a fast fix unfortunately, but we have hopes that the loss will be more durable this way!
