Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!
If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

If you have been fairly stable on your current eating weight-wise, carrying on with that plus the two fasting days should start some weight loss. That's what I've done. As you go on your appetite should decrease so helping the progress. Healthy choices, especially if you mean more veg is good. But the great thing about this way of life is that you can have treats and not feel guilty!
You don't need to count calories unless you find you are not losing weight after a month or so. Some people do anyway out of interest. If you want to get scientific about it you can work out your predicted total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) - there's links in the resources section for TDEE calculators. Your TDEE is approx what you should consume on a feast day. It's not necessary to do all that though!
Good luck with your fast tomorrow. Remember to drink plenty and don't be surprised if you get a headache and feel a bit under the weather on the first one. Take some paracetamol (acetaminophen) if necessary and remember that the second fast will be much much easier! Most people sail through their first fast though!
