Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Found my way here today

Hello everyone - this forum has been highly recommended and I have today decided I am serious about losing my weight. A cruise looms in July so I would really love to lose a stone for then. please tell me it is do-able?
My first fasting day is tomorrow and is going to consist of one egg, one apple, plenty of water and then some sliced chicken with veg.
I am actually feeling quite excited!

Hi Vivien and welcome!

The average weightloss is 1 lb per week so it should be possible! Everyone is different though so no guarantees...you may turn out to lose weight faster or slower than average. Hopefully faster!

Have a look at the progress tracker...if you register you can plot your progress and get a nice graph but better than that you can play with the forum statistics and see how people like you have got on...this will give you a better idea of whether your goal is realistic.

Good luck!

Good luck! It is certainly worth a go as July is still 3-4 months away! Sounds as though you have a few meals planned out for your fast days. Keep coming back for support.

Greetings - I'm new to this too - have already lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks. This is such an easy and satisfying diet for me. Not only am I losing weight, the potential health benefits are amazing. I start off with my coffee and one egg when I'm really hungry. This week I held off on the egg until noon. Was surprised how easy it was. Then it felt like I was full for most of the day! I save 60 calories for the end of the night and do that low fat popcorn - just puts a nice cap on the night. Good luck!

Good luck....we will all be here for support and there are lots on here who can give you very sound advice
I am loosing at 1 1/2 lbs per week...constant .....so 1 stone by July is very 'doable'
but if I could give you one piece of advice....try and relax into it...dont be over anxious about the scales and time scale...wotever happens before July ...its a worthwhile journey !

Hello Vivien. Good luck with your new WOE (Way Of Eating). I have lost fourteen pounds in eight weeks, so your target could be attainable but, if I have learned anything from this forum, it is that path to weight loss varies hugely from one person to the next and, as yet, we don't seem to know why. The best way to find out is to jump straight in! Don't forget to keep us posted on your progress!
