First Day Blues...
09 Apr 2013, 17:57
Hi, yesterday was my first fast, and I must admit I struggled. I had decided to save all my calories for my evening meal, and existed on friut teas, water, mint tea, one hot Bovril drink, more fruit tea etc.But by mid afternoon I had a horrid headache, so ended up going to bed at 8.30 as I felt so rotten. My ready meal ( which I chose because it made it easy for me as all the calories had been calculated) was not great, and I didnt really know if veg counted or not...and if it does, what calories are in it ?......But after a struggle yesterday, I have not felt very hungry at all today, and have not eaten anything like my normal quantities, and its not been a problem. So not sure if thats a delayed reaction, but Im not complaining....

I also had difficulty with my first fast (yesterday). I have done religious fasts (sunrise to sunset for 19 days no food/drink) and figured this would be easy. But I definitely eat a lot more during that fast than I did yesterday!!!! So I am going to toy around a little, maybe start with tea at home, bring breakfast to work and eat it after I feel really hungry. Love the community here.

The first day is the worst! The next is much easier and then it gets even easier! More you've got one out of the way you won't look back. Well done both!

I'm nearing the end of my first fast day too, but actually pleasantly surprised at how well it's gone. I wasn't sure how it would pan out and was envisaging not having breakfast and lunch and then a decent evening meal. However.....I woke up this morning ravenous!! I had to have breakfast so had a 150cal one, and a 200 cal lunch and its been pretty ok since. I've had waves of hunger throughout the day but they do seem to pass as quickly as they arrive. I even still managed to go to the gym after work. You may find playing around with when you have your 500cals worth a go, as you did we'll to get as far as you did-I certainly wouldn't have managed the whole day so you should be proud of yourself!
