New to 5:2 Today

Hi all - was on calorie contolled + excercise diet for past 12 weeks - lost 14lbs but have started to plateau and read that this diet can help get past that. I am about 10lbs away from my target which I hope to reach in 6 - 8 weeks.
This is my first 500 calorie day and so far so good. Does anyone know what I might lose in the first week?
It looks like an easier diet that being calorie restricted every day - and if I get tempted on diet day then I can always do the next day - so less pressure. Yay!

Hi Graceyous and welcome

It is difficult to predict your weightloss on 5:2 because of you having just been on a calorie controlled diet. You might find a small gain, no change or a loss in the first week. This is not a quick fix but some people who have plateaued have had good results quickly, others find it slow. It's important not to be too quick to decide whether or not it is working as everyone responds differently. Being near your target will slow your weightloss too. But I'm sure you'll get there sooner or later!

Good luck!
