Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Today is the day!

Hello,
I'm new here and starting today.
I was meant to start a diet just after new years, a calorie counting one, but just got caught up by social obligations.
Last Saturday I've discovered the BBC documentary through a blog. I found it very interesting. So I look for some information on the Internet and I found you!

Hi Rosalie

Welcome to the forum and to the 5:2 lifestyle. I hope you find it suits you. The first few fasts might be tough but it soon gets so much easier and becomes something to look forward to!

Look at the thread for today's fasters and chat with people who are also fasting today!

Good luck!

Thanks Caroline. I'm actually kind of looking forward to it already! Call me crazy.
I might change my mind around 11am though!
I'll check the thread.

Hi, also started today and I am feeling fine, but slightly daunted! I had a nice porridge mid morning meal for 180 kcal, which was very much appreciated! I think the main test will be the evening - probably early to bed to avoid thinking about food.

Good luck to you. Porridge sounds like heaven right now ;)

Hello
It's day 10 and I weigh myself this morning. So far I've lost 1.6kg. Not much I think but if it's going down constantly I'm fine with it.
