Have i done something wrong
18 Apr 2013, 20:51
Hi,
Today was my first fast day and i just wondered if i had done it right. I have been reading topics on this forum for 2 days in preperation for my fast today. I have found today easy and i wonder if ive messed it up some how. I dont expect every day to be as easy as this but im worried i did something wrong because it was easy. I didnt have any breakfast or lunch, had water, 2 white tea and one white coffee to drink. Then dinner consisted of cous cous, pepper, tomatoes and cheese. Even had enough cals left over for hot choc and cookie before bed. I measured and counted everything 3 time so i think my calorie count is correct at 430 but i was surprised my body didnt put up more of a fight. Is this normal? I didnt miss my food today like i thought i would. Has anyone else had this experience with thier first or any other fast day.

Thank you to anyone who replies to this post.

I found my first fast was quite easy, I know I didn't drink enough tho as woke up with a headache the next day. My second fast was worse (not to put you off) but I felt light headed, tired and really hungry. I made it through and was so glad as today (my 3rd fast) was easy, I drank plenty had celery and carrot at lunch and egg on toast for dinner and I feel a little hungry but bedtime soon.

When people said to me it would be easier after the 2nd fast on Tues when I was thinking of giving up I was dubious but boy do I feel good today and VERY proud of myself. If you second fast is easy too then you are very lucky!!

Hi Nichola and congrats on your first fast!

You've done nothing wrong at all. I think you will have found the fast easy because you're body is probably already good at turning to fat for fuel. Some people are either lucky that way or if they've been following a low carb diet they are used to burning fat. So, don't worry...celebrate it! (well tomorrow if you want to celebrate with food ;-))

Nothing wrong, methinks! My first fast was sooooo easy, I just couldn't believe it. Perhaps it's all the enthusiasm for doing something new, easy, good.

looks right to me..... I favour the system of not eating til dinner either. Once you start eating, especially mid afternoon, it is hard to stop!
