2 lbs is within the range of body fluctuations, especially for women, so I wouldn't panic just yet.

Might be worth setting out what you eat and when on here, to gain weight you would need to be eating a few hundred calories over your needs on the five feed days.

Welcome to the forums!

PhilT is right on - it could be water or normal range of body fluctuations, especially if you have more weight to loser.

It's a good idea to calculate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (google TDEE for a counter) and see where you stand with that. To not gain weight, you're supposed to eat around your TDEE. To lose weight, you have to eat less than your TDEE each week - so you can reduce calories daily or just reduce them two days a week.

You probably need to weight yourself everyday so you can see how your weight is trending. You can't really look at your weight from just one day, as water gain make you go up or down.

As everyone else has said, normal body weight fluctuations can make it look like you've gained. Also in the early days you lose a lot of water weight, but regain some of that while losing fat - so the scales can be a little up and down the first few weeks but should trend downwards.

I find it best to only weigh in 'officially' once a week, on the same day at around the same time. This way I notice the downward trend more obviously. I do weigh in between just to get an idea of how things are going but I don't take it to heart if it's up a bit between weigh ins, that's pretty normal.

You might find it helpful to get a pair of scales which measure body fat and water too, this can be reassuring when you see what looks like a gain and then you find you're retaining some more water than usual!

There are a couple other things to consider...

...watch your salt intake. Sodium can cause water bloating which shows up on the scale as weight. Some prepared "diet" foods are just loaded with salt.

...check your scale. I bought a fancy new one which is highly sensitive to being moved and the weight registered when one steps on it can vary by several pounds after each time it's moved, even within a minute or two of weighings. How aggravating !
