Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi everyone.

Ive started this new WOL last week and on my second day this week of fasting. Im finding the fast days quite easy and, although felt hungry at first, i think im getting used to it now. Just one question..... on the non-fast days, am i doing right by sticking to 1200 calories? or should I just eat what I want? It just doesn't feel right eating "naughty" things? :|

Hi Jadean

Welcome to the 5:2 lifestyle and our forum!

Re feed day calories, unless you are really tiny, you should not calorie restrict except on fast days. Just eat whatever you fancy, including your 'naughty' things! That is what makes this diet so do-able, that you don't have to hold back for more than two days in a week! Some people reckon that eating too little on feed days can slow down the weight loss.

Enjoy your feed days!

Hi Caroline - thanks for that - just seems so odd! After years and years of literally watching everything that I eat, now being allowed to eat anything I like for 5 days just feels wierd. Hey ho - im gonna give it my all and see what happens.

Thank you
Carole
