Hi
I'm just starting today hoping to fast Mondays and Thursdays and maybe another day in some weeks to boost loss hopefully.

I've been reading up on here and other forums and will put my stats in later.

I'm a serial dieter and usually fail after a couple of weeks but have done a VLCD for a month so thinking I can manage 2 or 3 days without too many problems.

If I did 3 days I would probably ideally do say a Monday Wednesday and Thursday or would there be a problem with 2 consecutive days?

Thanks

Debbie

Hi and welcome!

I think consecutive days would be hard if you are doing 3 a week altogether, but you might not find it so. I'd start with the two days until you get used to it as the first few fasts can be hard.

Hi
Thanks for the reply and welcome - I probably didn't make myself very clear. I don't think I will struggle to badly with 3 days as I have done a VLCD before - what I meant was is there any problem with doing 2 consecutive days?

thanks :)

Oh sorry, I thought you meant, 2 consecutive days and then one or two days of normal eating followed by another fast.

No, two consecutive days is allowed though I do find that my appetite gradually increases again the further I get from a fast so, for example, last week I had 4 days between fasts and by the 4th day was getting back to my old habits so I prefer to spread the fast days out.

The study in breast cancer risk done in Manchester by Michelle Harvie used a 2 day consecutive fast protocol so there is evidence for doing it that way.
