Hello with determination
13 Jan 2013, 11:21
Hi Everyone

I started this just over a week ago now and I am facing my 4th fast day tomorrow, Monday. I have coped very well on fast days, but as I have always been a bit of a binger I find feast days harder. I think I also have some hormone issues and trying to get them sorted out.

I want this to work, more than any other way of eating I've ever tried. So I'm going for it

Well done for giving this a go! We are here for you! I recommend using my fat secret our my fitness pal (links in resources section) to track calories. I also track calories on feed days in a rough and ready sort of way so that I remain mindful of what I'm eating. I still eat cake, chocolate, crisps, have a glass of wine if I fancy it but keeping an eye on the calories ensures I do this in moderation! I used my fat secret to work out how many cals I should eat on average to ensure slow weight loss and aim to keep to that figure. Because of the fast days, I can eat around 500 cals a day more than the recommended figures on feast days and still come in under budget!

Hi Shell,

Hope you get some answers to your hormone problems soon. I suffer from endometriosis and PCOS and I've read so many diet books claiming to help with these conditions but I've not found anything that works and I've spent a fortune over the years on various supplements but after reading lots about 5:2 I am convinced that this will help with insulin resistance.
I'm not expecting a miracle cure but I'm determind to lose some weight which will then help with my hormones and general health.

Good Luck :D
