Hi everyone,

I have just started the 5:2 diet after it was recommended to me by my doctor.

I lost 2lbs last week (first week on the 5:2) so hoping for more of the same at weigh in tomorrow.

fingers crossed, im not convinced I will this week as had a pizza at the weekend (I'm a bit of a comfort eater).

But hopefully the 5:2 will kick it back into touch and I have either stayed the same or lost some :)

Welcome NachoHeeledge!

Your doctor recommended the diet? That's great news! Some folk have found their doctor to be rather negative. It's good to hear that more doctors have taken time to find a bit about the diet and are now willing to recommend it.

I have been following the 5:2 path for nearly 3 months now and am finding my eating habits are changing. The comfort food seems less comforting and I often find I am full up after surprisingly little food (still putting too much on my plate but hopefully my brain will catch up with the stomach soon!). So, don't worry about the pizza etc, over the coming weeks you will find yourself turning to food for comfort less and less.

Good luck with it all.

My doctor actually follows the 5:2 himself when he wants to lose weight. Apparently 25yrs ago he used to not eat every other day to lose weight so this seemed easier.

He has lost 2.5 stone on it

Well no major loss this week, 0.2lbs. But considering the pizza at the weekend I'm happy with this :)
