New to group. Hi !
05 Feb 2013, 19:34
Hello, I'm on week two and am finding this easier than I anticipated. Today, however, I'm feeling a little light headed( only just started to feel like this since early evening) I've changed my fasting to one evening meal only. I did have about 100g of frozen black grapes earlier around 4pm to try and stop the light head feeling, but am still feeling it :? I did power walk today, at 11ish for just under an hour. I'm wondering if this has had anything to do with me feeling like this?? Not really had lightheaded feelings up till today. Any advice gratefully appreciated. Bye for now x

Hi Mel

Most people get light headed in the first few fasts. I think it is due to low blood sugar occurring because the body is a bit slow to change over to use fat as fuel when the store of glycogen runs low. When you went for your walk you probably used up the glycogen faster. what seems to happen is that your body switches over more efficiently with more fasts so you will probably not get it again or at worst after a few more fasts. I think it is worth embracing the one meal a day regime because of the fact that you do start burning fat. I think this will help with weight loss.

I imagine that when you were having more meals on your fast day your body never really needed to rely on fat for fuel.

Hope that helps...
