If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hi all, here in the depths of the french countryside, me and my husband have now done 4 weeks of 5:2 and getting on great.

We are In it for the long term health benefits, having heard Micael Mosley talk about it, but we both had about 13kgs to lose to get us back from being overweight. Our big downfall here is probably too much wine, so to start with we did a dry January and now we will only have wine at the weekends. For the time being we are being very controlled in our overall eating, really trying to set new habits in place.

I am active on a couple of the Facebook groups and found out about this site as someone pointed to the progress tracker.

All dependant on how much time I have available, I'll try and pop in here every so often to keep up to date with progress.

Glad you have found us and the tracker. The stats from the tracker are really interesting and I hope you find the site informative.

There seems to be a small group of 5:2ers building up in France..I think you're the third or fourth member on the forum who is based in France.
