Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Watched the programme last year, and have procrastinated for long enough! I simply love food, and eating and have tried many ways to lose weight and now at almost 54 I am really seeing the disadvantages of being overweight, knee's aching, stiff in the morning, generally unfit. This diet seems supremely do-able. To only eat 500 calories on one day isn't a problem because I KNOW that the next day I can eat what I want! And already (only at end of first week) I am finding that on my non-fast days I am not obsessing about food and I put that down to the fact that because there are no restrictions there is no need to feel deprived which diets have always made me feel. Ideally I am looking to lose 3-4 stone but as it has taken me 54 years to get into this state I am prepared to work towards the end result and this feels like a way that I can do it - and stick to it! The book arrived this morning and I haven't put it down yet! :D

Hi Lizzibel and welcome to the forum.

I'm so pleased you are enjoying your entry to this new way of life (WOL). It really is a revelation isn't it. I was thinking on my feed day yesterday, that I wasn't actually sure whether I wanted any of the syrup sponge pudding that I had made for the rest of the family and because it wasn't banned I didn't seem to know what to feel about it! I did have some because I could I think! My brain is still trying to come to terms with the new situation (and I've been doing it for 3 months, but I suppose I have a lifetime of bad habits to overcome).

I am almost the same age as you and had 5 stone to lose in October last year, now after three months I have 3.5 stone to go, which I feel is pretty rapid progress considering how long it took to put the weight on!

I hope you enjoy our forum and find some useful information and, of course, good support.

Thanks Caroline,
It does seem to suit the 'foodaholic's! So fingers crossed and I'm glad I've found this forum. I'll have a good look round and I'm sure I will find plenty of support, and hopefully give some too when I get into my stride!

Hi Lizzibel, and welcome to the forum,
you will find it very "do-able" because you can enjoy the foods you/we all love on feed days, obviously eating normal... (not binging!)

Plus on feed days, I, and a lot on here have found you don't over eat, far from it! Good luck :)
