Hi Is this for real?
11 Feb 2013, 15:59
Never really been into to diets and work more on the philosophy. Eat what I want an exercise hard. At the stage now that the joints are starting to scream at me as I try to burn another 1500cals in one gym session I have heard whispered of this diet so watched the programme online at the weekend and what a revelation it was. As well as losing weight the health benefits also are really good.
So here I am day 1 and fasting. What I find hard to believe is the vast quantity of food I can have to take me up to my 600 mark. In my favour I have always been a lover of raw veg.
Going to do the full day fast so last meal was 20.00 Sunday and won’t eat normally till I get up Tuesday morning.
Up this morning and had a green tea (first one ever) very nice .No food
Walked the dogs 3 miles and another green tea. Still no food and not hungry.
Lunch- tuna pasta bowel and 270g of steamed veg (292cal) Very filling. Only had lunch as my wife is B/S but I could have went without
Oops and another green tea
9 mile cycle.
I can’t understand why I am not starving. I am planning on a trip to the gym later but only for a light cardio session then home for tea. Looking to have a meal of two eggs and more veg .
Can someone please verify that I can eat whatever I like as long as I stay below the 600 mark for today?

Hi Harry & welcome!

Well done indeed on so much exercise while fasting, I know a lot of us wouldn't feel quite so able - but then I suspect you are rather more fit than a lot of us, given your philosophy!

Yes indeed, you can have what you like as long as you stay within your 600 cals. I've heard of some chaps doing this alongside their wives but instead of eating healthily they eat chocolate & booze (albeit not much for 600 cals!) - and still lose weight!

Hi Harry

Sounds like it's going good! Just to add to Moogie's post. You can have what you like to eat on the feed days too, as long as you don't go over board! That is to say...eat what should be normal for you if you were maintaining your weight.

Dr M has said that men find it easier to go without food for long periods than women, which I think is because they have more stored glycogen.

Thanks or the replies. I am really looking forward to this new life style

Well that my first 24 hr fast finished but not going to start eating until tomorrow .I have found it really easy but to be fair I ate enough at the weekend to last me all week. Went to the gym tonight and burned 1100 cals and did not feel any effect of fasting.
Next fast is Thursday. Might not find that as easy as I am going to try and keep my intake on feast days to 2500 max
