Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!
If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!
A lot have people have mentioned that they found sleeping difficult for the first few fast days, but I believe that many have found it easier as they progress.
I suspect that you will find it easier after your next few fast days as your body adjusts.
Keep going, and keep smiling!
Yes, my first fast day was awful. Felt terrible, no sleep, hungry, headache, the works. The second one was miles better, and they just kept improving thereafter. The more dependent we are on constant food input, especially if that has been based on carbohydrates, the worse the first fast hits us I think.
Hang in there!
I had trouble sleeping after my first fast & was advised to have some milk ( reserve calories for this from your 500 ) just before going to sleep & it really helped. Yesterday I didn't have enough calories spare for milk so I had a small banana & that also helped & if I felt chilly I also had a hot water bottle. I have only just started & on Friday will be my sixth fast & sleeping has got much better.
Good luck with it all & stick in there because it does get easier although I am still very much a novice at this!
