For those of you anxious about the changes please rest assured that we have a great plan in place and the transition will be as smooth as possible. We'll make sure all the content is copied over to the new system, it would be a travesty to lose the goldmine of info we have here! It is largely thanks to this info that we rank so well in Google so don't worry, we'll still be easily findable! The other forum I run has changed systems several times so I've a bit of experience in porting stuff over :)

Initially we're just changing the look of this place a bit so you can get used to the new name, logo, colours etc. The system change will be later on - have to get my house move out of the way first at least! You won't be bombarded with everything all at once, I struggle with change myself so things will happen one step at a time. That's why I'm easing you in with this announcement and the new logo first :)

that sounds like you wont change domain names. cause Google ranking needs to follow you and changing to new domain can be dangerous.

yes you do rank very well i have noticed.. so your SEO is spot on!

re porting across... sounds like you are skilled there.

Moogie, any chance to tell use the name of other forum you run (merely curious) ?
We will be changing domain names, but that's fine - there are tools in my webmaster account with Google to tell it the site is changing domain so the ranking shouldn't be affected :) - and don't worry, the old domain will redirect properly.

The other forum I run is pretty niche really and not very active these days - in fact I seldom even visit in now, but in its day it was the hub of the Shining Force community online - Shining Force is an old Sega franchise of RPGs. I don't know why but for some reason it feels wrong to post the link here, like I'm trying to send you over to my other site (which is silly as it's nothing to do with weight loss!) - but you can find it quite easily by its name, Shining Force Central :)
Due to the time warp I experience in the States, I'm a bit late "weighing in" as it were, but how exciting. Many congrats, great idea, love the logo, good luck & anything else positive & supportive that has been stated here already. Thanks for all you do, all of you are a most amazing group of people.

Looks like you have it in hand Moogie.

Yes webmaster tools notification is a simple method that works to keep your rankings.

found the Shining force site. Nice work
Thanks my dear :) I started that one back in '95, or was it '96? long time ago either way! It's changed a lot over the years, but I had a lot of fun there in its busy days. I made all sorts of fun features, none of which would really be apt for here I guess... although... hmmm, something to think about!
:like: from me too. Thanks for all the hard work. :)

Hi I'm new here having just descovered 5:2 fast but doing the 16:8 as a way in. Very pleased there's such variety of experience here. It's only right the new name reflects this. On a personal note how do people feel about the flashing avatars? I find I can't read the page whilst these are swaopoing pictures. I hope to get use to them as everyone has done so well on them. Let's live with the image of us as we are and want to be. Just a thought. :?: Karri

I too, have found that other site (it is the very first entry which comes up in that Google search).
@Moogie just wondering if the new changes will make it easier to attach photos? I don't seem to be able to do it from my iPad. I did attach something once, but not sure how! I can attach photos for Twitter etc. so don't know what the difference is...I'm not technically minded these days!

Just thought I'd ask...

Nursebean, I've not settled on exactly which forum system to move over to - it's not a decision to take lightly so I'll be giving it some more thought after I've moved house :) will certainly bear your input in mind!

As for attaching photos here, perhaps you've had issues with it because the are too big? If you get an error when you try, let me know and I'll try to assist!

I only joined a week ago and yesterday went through my second fasting day. A bit difficult when you work in a cafe kitchen but I managed and could not wait until dinner to have a Greek yogurt FULL of chia seeds!!!
Look forward to the new Fast Day site!

@nursebean
Take a screen shot of the pic, this then reduces the resolution and makes it small enough for the site. Info courtesy of @Candicemarie see Liverpool meet thread. :like:
Thank you to all involved. In your email you mentioned changing our passwords. Do we have to do that now.
I'm not on the forum that often now, but am continuing to control my weight using the 5:2 principles and am thrilled that's it so easy to do that.
The forums have helped so much on the journey.
A big thank you to everyone......x
