Just back from holidays in France, and as predicted, the fasting took a back seat. So far back, infact, I don't think it was even in the same vehicle ;)

What can I say? I am just too fond of cheese and wine when I am in France.

Having said that, I did swim every day, did 3 aquafit classes, and cycle a fair bit.

Still, I am dreading getting on the scales as I know I have undone all my recent good work, and literally haven't felt hungry for days. It's funny, I kind of feel a bit manky, because I am not used to eating as rich food as I did last week, I tend to err towards a veggie diet but in france I ate pate every single day. So 5:2 and my clean eating have no doubt changed the way I look at food.

Back on it then. Word!
I believe holidays are meant to be enjoyed well you only live once!!!
You had a good time though that's what counts :like:
After my holiday in May I never weighed in on my return and 8 days later
I was same as the day I went away, it took hard work and 3 full fasts plus 1semi fast but I knew I could do it that's the joy of this WOL :clover: Sue
Just had a look at your blog, and some fantastic pics on there ,love the sunflowers!
i'm sure even if you've put some pounds on,they will come off easily once you get back into the swing of things. Quite a few people have been on hols, come back with the odd few pounds, then lost them. You never know it might have shaken things up a bit, and you might be in for a bit of a 'drop' ... and anyway, it sounds like you've had a great holiday with your family, without worrying about food, and as Sue says, that's what matters most. :like: :clover:
I had a look at your blog too, looks like a great time. But maybe a warning about not looking at the food pictures on a fasting day
Lucky you to have such a nice vacation! They are meant to be enjoyed and to forget about our real life. Back to reality now. I remember when I was young and my family had a beach house, life was wonderful there not a care in the world. We ate and laughed and swam and laughed. It was wonderful until September came and we had to pack up and go back to the city. Vacations are such wonderful memories.
What lovely pictures!!

Don't despair too much - on my recent trip to Paris I only gained one pound - and it was gone 4 days later :-) And believe me, I ate!
I agree with everyone. Don't worry too much. It already sounds like you're in a very good place with this WOE. Well done!

I'll look at your pictures on a non fast day...
Thanks for sharing, imcountingufoz! Sounds like you had a wonderful time and the photos are beautiful. I am sure you'll be back to 'normal' in no time! :clover:
Thank you thank you for your lovely comments about my photos and blog.

It was a very lovely hoilday. I am such a francophile, I'd move there if I had half the chance. I just wish I could speak French :)

We tried to eek out the holiday feeling one more day and had croissants for breakfast, but I won't eat now until I have dinner later on, and that will be small and light as I can't face any more rich food.
Don't feel guilty, you are supposed to enjoy yourself on holiday! And this WOE means you can easily lose any weight gained (and it won't be much in a couple of weeks). Strangely enough I find it easier to stay slim living in France - there isn't the temptation of food all the time (most restos are only open at meal times, no 24 hour food shopping) and I drink less wine too because it is just like that here. Plus eating 'lite' in the evenings...
Good luck with getting back on track x
