I've just weighed at end of Week 6 and 14th fast day and scales are being very stubborn or they have an excellent (sticky) memory. Total off is apparently still 5.8kgs.

Had a good week of 2 x fast days at 500 cals or just under and no overloading on feast days either + exercise as usual. I was convinced I would have lost a minimum of a kilo this week. Scales religiously sticking to weight 7 days ago!

I'm reading all the posts about weight gain and weight sticking and am not panicking, but it certainly grates when you're putting in the effort.

I might weigh again on Sunday morning and will keep going with this as have a lot to lose by sticking to it and a lot to lose if I don't (a waste of effort and my pride)!
Hi Peta

Remember you are doing better than average (the average loss after 6 weeks is only 3.5kg!), water, exercise, totm, can all make a difference to what the scales say. Make sure you are not under eating on fast days too. I have lost more when I've feasted than when being careful!
Stick with it and you will see results. A lot of the old timers on here like Moogie, Carolees, etc have stuck with it for months and are really reaping the rewards for their persistence. Your body is just settling into this new regime and now is not the time to give up after all you have lost nearly 6 kgs in 6 weeks which is well above the average as per Carolees results table last weekend. This is not supposed to be a miracle fix to all our weight problems but rather a long term sustainable solution to weight control and improved health. Good luck and focus on all the positive posts on these forums rather than the negative ones.
I think you're doing fantastically, Peta. Imagine how long it takes us to get to the point where we decide to tackle our weight and our health, then congratulate yourself for achieving so much in such a short period of time.
Give your body a chance to adjust...it's a lot to ask of it, lose endlessly, exercise and not eat...
6kg in 6 weeks is amazing Peta - just 'cos the scales stuck this week don't worry - think about the overall effect not just the previous week, is my way of looking at it. Keep going gal you're doing great
I wouldn't weigh yourself for a couple of weeks, Peta, as you're focusing on the figures, rather than your figure.
I have only lost a pound this week, but it's a pound closer to being fit and healthy.
You've invested a lot already, so do keep going, but don't worry - we're all different,

So you've done 14 fast days, the rest eating a normal diet and lost 5.8kg....sounds brilliant to me! :like:

Peta ! you've lost 5.8 KGS in six weeks !! Let me get this straight , are you complaining about this princely loss or am i misreading or even misunderstanding . I would gnaw my left arm covered in Daddy's sauce (blecc) to have had that sort of weight loss.
Peta Please You are doing Brilliantly!!!5:2 is the best for slowly but surely :) and all the health goodness. Monthly weight can go up and down it's normal and healthy. In 2 weeks time you might have gone down 2kgs. Patience and savoring feast days are the keys :) Keep going!!! Don't leave us :)
Thank you all. You are a wonderful bunch of losers ( ), cajoling and motivating me and I hope by sticking with the plan that I can do the same for everyone else - it's Friday and it's raining and I'm just feeling a bit down - first time for ages though and we can't all be like Tigger every day!!

I'll bounce back after a restful weekend.
Happy times ahead.x
