Good luck with the smoking-quitting will make you healthier and wealthier and is very wise.
Was good to read about getting cold on fast days...I've experienced that last week but didnt make the connection!
Thank you for the support Gillymary, I am feeling so motivated to do it, but it's great to know about others' success. It's like health-overhaul for me right now, and it's exciting!

Are you a quitter yourself then?
:clover: fYes I thought I could never quit and I did it.
So keep at it and if you falter just dust yourself off and get back on track.
You can do it :clover: :clover:
Just a bit of encouragement from a non puffer, friends are having great success with e-cigs, some sort of vapour thingie, might be worth a try but good luck anyway with all your efforts :clover: and hopefully you can say goodbye to :cigarette: :cigarette: :cigarette:

@gillymary: well done! That's really motivating. I have two extremes in my life - non-smokers or those who have no intention or inclination to give up, so it's great to hear from someone who kicked its butt!

@ballerina: Yes, I have heard of the e-cigs, and I have contemplated it. The thing that worries me about them is that they will maintain the hand-to-mouth habit. I'm a relatively light smoker, hand rolled roll-ups (when I got my carbon monoxide measured at the chemist they said my levels were that of a non-smoker), but if the Champix doesn't help I'll definitely give the e-cigs a whirl. Thanksfor the encouragement.
@Merlin: thank you for the encouragement - yep, only good things can come of it!

@Nom-nom: I haven't experienced that side effect, but perhaps soups would help heat you up on fast days.
It-is-time sounds like you don't have far to go to give up
All the best
So WEEK 1 is in the bag!

I still feel great, making excellent food choice most of the time - I'm loving the heightened awareness of what I am putting in my body on the repair days - I am being kinder to myself. Also sleeping like a log still, even though the Champix is meant to give you disturbed sleep. And I lost a wee half lb, which was a surprise, I never expected to lose anything for a while as my weight is not high.
BF % has increased, but I don't really trust the scales for this, I'll do a military calculation based on measurements in a few weeks.
Waist size has reduced also, from 26.5 to 26.1. Pretty cool!

Here's to a successful first week! Hope everyone is doing well.
