My goodness they are a nasty lot over at that newspaper. The comments at the bottom would make an Internet troll blush!! Just hope poor old Philip and Holly don't read them. They all seem to hate them - Holly's fat, has bad knees (??!!) and Phil is horrible apparently!! Crazy. And of course 5:2 is nuts, unhealthy, dangerous etc. We should all just eat less and move more according to that lot who are obviously all perfect in every way!! Anyone who says 'eat less, move more' should have to publish their own BMI!!

Absolutely!
You know what, I really can't be bothered. Negativity over various things through my life I've now just learnt to ignore it and I just completely turn off - I think it's a self preservation thing - bit like putting your own oxygen mask on first in an aircraft - you have to protect yourself before you can help others. I read the article, looked at the first few comments at the bottom then thought - can't be bothered, let them get on with it. Maybe we're all just members of some obscure cult forum and we're being totally brainwashed - do I care - Nope, it's what's right for me and 5,999+ others at the moment, so yah bah sucks humbug, I just don't care!!!! Happy Tuesday evening fellow 5:2ers, I'm in this for life
I was so busy being hypocritical there myself (giving off about people giving off! lol) that I forgot to say Philip's loss is great motivation. He must be losing 2lb or more a week. Men do seem to find weight loss a bit easier than us gals. I've lost well but I water fast. I lost 1lb per week on normal 5:2. It's great to see public figures admitting to doing it. Maybe if there were a few more 'ambassadors' there'd be fewer naysayers.
Yeah, it seems this WOE is being met with more resistance by nutritionists now that it's becoming more popular, though I'm not surprised considering it effectively makes their job irrelevant.
Just reading through those comments you can see they don't understand what 5:2 is all about, nor the science behind it. They're just following the typical information, wrong information that revolves around the way we should be eating.

I have stopped reading newspaper/mag articles about 5:2 also, they always get something wrong about it so why bother, it just winds me up.
Although to be fair, 5:2 does qualify as eating less
