Sort of like a public food diary forum? Sounds like a nice idea if folks will use it

Unless we all have the same TDEE I don't see how this would work?

That's what I was thinking but maybe a thread can be titled "My 1750 calorie day" or "typical 2200 calorie day of meals" With calories given for each meal/snack?
Hi Moogie
How about the start bmi put on the tracker page, so we can see the before & present. Many thanks for your hard work. Sue

And please may we have height displayed as well?
Moogie, would it be a good idea (and possible) to show a running total of donations made to 'lbs for pounds' project, possibly under the logo so that it could act as a visual reminder?
I have done my best to draw attention to it with a recent post but it disappears quite quickly from 'new posts', which is where most people seem to go first for their daily 'fix' on the forum!

I'll have to find out if there's some kind of justgiving widget I can use for that! Good idea
How about adding a world map page with stick pins showing where everyone resides; auto-configured from their registrations?
Unfortunately there is no such add-on and because there is no standard entry format for the locations this could be pretty difficult to achieve. I guess I could set up a custom field with a specified list of countries to help with this but will need to learn the Google maps api too!
Could we have a recipe book page. Rather than everyone putting their ideas as posts we have a page for veggie dishes, pork, beef, thai, puddings etc like a recipe book without comments being allowed, just a strict 'book'. Rather than having to trawl through pages and pages of posts looking for something. That way we could home in on what we are looking for a lot quicker.
I have absolutely no idea how it would be done in a forum, but I'm hoping.

Hi Moogie,
I love looking at other people's progress trackers - I find them so inspiring!
Most people (probably UK and US) seem to track in pounds, but I can only think in kg. It's great that on each user's mini-profile (to the left of each posting) it's adjusted so I can see their loss in kg. But do you think you could do something with the progress tracker graphs so that those who choose metric over imperial would automatically see all progress trackers in kg?
Thank you very much - I love the way this site works and I really appreciate all the inspiration you and all the other hard-core fasters give us newbies

Hi dimmit - that's actually something I've been meaning to do for ages. Now it's done Thanks for giving me a prod!
Thank you!!!!
What a fast response - the progress trackers are so easy to understand at a glance now!!!

If it's set for each weigh in I'll have to do some serious planning as to how this impacts the stats, which data needs to be included & when. It's a tricky one. It might be better if I allowed users to have multiple trackers, so if you change diet type you start a new tracker for that, rather than chopping and changing week by week.
So we should create a second profile if we want to move between 4:3 and 5:2 and 'deactivate' the unused profile by choosing "maintenance" in the progress tracker?
Perhaps it would be halpful to add an info field to the 'Edit Settings' of the Progress Tracker that explains the necessary steps (creating a new profile plus 'maintenance* setting etc) that make switching from 4:3 to 5:2 or vice versa possible without compromising the integrity of the data.
Alternatively there could be a 'Progress Tracker FAQ', and the 'FAQs - the short answers' could be renamed '5:2 Fast Diet FAQ - the short answers'.
That's not really an ideal solution either as starting a new tracker if you change method can be just as harmful to the data - the new data would be considered as you starting a whole new diet, meaning that your first lot of new data would be considered as your loss for week 1 of the diet, whereas in reality it is further down the line and won't have the same initial larger losses usually experienced at the start of a diet. These lower figures would throw the data off too.
I need to give this issue a lot more thought as to how to allow for it without messing up the data. The only real solution seems to be to specify what method (4:3/5:2/ADF) was used for each weigh in and me dividing the data up between each methods' stats from there. Not an easy matter but may be possible for me to do it somehow.
