Domane's Maintenance Diary...
14 Oct 2013, 13:26
Hope I'm allowed to have a diary in this section as maintaining is something I have never achieved before so I'd really like to be able to update this regularly.

So last week I finally hit my target of 9:13. I have scales that give eighths of pounds too so my actual weight was....

I have yo'yo'd with my weight in the past and lost it via SW, but this year I changed my eating habits and started running, which I adore, so things are VERY different for me this time round. Nevertheless, there is still an element of terror surrounding the word "maintenance". Ideally I would like to be around 9:10 so that I remain within the nines as my body naturally fluctuates, but seeing as the last pound from ten stone took me two weeks to lose, I assumed that my body had settled and didn't want to lose any more.

I decided to stick with my usual eating of fasting on Monday and Weds, 16:8 on Friday and sticking to 1480 calories on my normal-eating days. Surprisingly as the week progressed, I effortlessly dropped a further pound, down to nine, twelve and three quarters. But then the weekend happened and I became a couch potato as the weather was poor... and I baked and may have licked a spoon or two....

Anyway, a week later and I weigh exactly... to the eighth of a pound.... the same as I did last Monday! So my first week of maintenance has gone well!
I had a good and bad day yesterday.

The "bad" was that I baked a lemon-flavoured Victoria sponge for my husband - sandwiched with home-made lemon curd AND butter icing and then I indulged in a small slice yesterday evening. Very tasty it was too, but my body really doesn't doooo high fat and white carbs any more and I had indigestion in the evening. Serves me right. Scales were up over a pound this morning too, which again confirms that I retain more water to process cr@ppy carbs...

The "good" was that although I'm thrilled to be a size 10 jeans now, although I'm not really losing any more weight, I can feel that it is 'redistributing' as I work the weights and machines at the gym and some of my jeans are getting loose. I've tried wearing a belt but now that I don't have a liberal covering of fat on my hips, the belt digs in and makes it uncomfortable to wear. So I'd gone out on a limb and bought a nice pair of size EIGHT jeans from ebay.... just to keep in my cupboard.... in case... y'know....

Well, they arrived yesterday and I held them up to look at the width of the bum - and laughed out loud at the ridiculous notion that I'd EVER be able to fit into THOSE tiny babies.... and then I tried them on....

Well, whady'a know????? Previously my backside was THIS wiiiiide....

So this morning I went to the gym and committed to running 5km on the treadmill - something I've been avoiding since I joined 3 weeks ago. And I did it. And I beat my previous personal best time by two minutes. And the machine said I burned 368 calories, which takes a chunk out of yesterday's cake! So today I am back in the zone and motivated again (and wearing my size eights!!!)
