Weight Maintenance

Well done I bet your horse is wondering where you have gone when riding lol xx
Actually, he was the second biggest reason I decided to lose some weight. He never showed a problem carrying me when I was heavier, but just because he could, didn't mean that he should. I'm sure he's very appreciative!!!

I am sure he is too. xx

Fantastic results! How wonderful you look. Congratulations.

Coo! Wow! Best advert for 5/2 yet. Very well done and I'm deeply jealous!
Oh what a tiny waist..and size eight jeans! ! And no fat on yr back!
And well done on your first week of maintaining!
Well it's nearly three weeks of me maintaining, which may not sound a long time but for me this is something of a RECORD as with all my previous weight-losses I'd have been busy eating and letting it start to creep back on by now....

I set myself the target of 9:13 but for the first couple of weeks I just couldn't bring myself to change my routine, so scared was I of losing control, so I actually continued to lose and after I achieved my first ever 10km run last weekend, the scales told me I had dropped down to 9:10!!! However, all the lovely size 10 jeans I had lovingly invested in were starting to feel stupidly loose AND with the change in the weather I've been craving carbs really badly, so what I have done is up my daily calorie allowance so that I don't feel hungry all the time. I also had a "blip" where I pigged out on carbs in the week (I did a separate thread about it) and it terrified me as I thought I'd lost all my control. Of course, the next day I was back on track and no harm was done, but that exercise reassured me that I DO still have self-control and that the occasional weak moment, doesn't mean that it will all be downhill from there. If I over-eat on one day, I know that I can 16:8 and cut back the next and that should balance it out. Also not to make a habit of it... I don't think my nerves could take it!!! haha I'm currently 9:12 and happy to fluctuate around that mark. I'm still not brave enough to stop daily weighing yet... I NEED to monitor myself closely. But so far, so good....
You are doing great so just keep going and you will eventually relax into your maintenance, good luck

Ballerina x
Nearly 6 weeks into maintenance now and I'm STILL 9:13 - and SO proud of myself for achieving this! :like: The very low-carb and high-fat diet is keeping me satiated so I'm no longer getting through the days by counting the hours down until the next meal. Still weighing daily and logging everything on MFP although my calorie count has gone through the ROOF!!! Scary to see it in black and white but amazingly the scales remain stable each morning, so there must be something in it. Whether I stick to it long-term remains to be seen, but if it can help me get through the colder winter months at the same weight and not feeling hungry all the time, who am I to argue
That's brilliant @Domane! :like: Sounds like you've really cracked it! :victory:
Well done Domane - you do seem to have found what works for you
Forgot to add the most IMPORTANT bit.... still 16:8'ing three mornings a week too.... ;)
Well I just thought I'd update this to say I've now been maintaining for ten weeks - this really is completely new territory for me and I'm so proud of myself. I have relaxed a lot as I now know that if I do have a bit of a splurge, I find it no trouble at all to have a fast or a "good" day the next day which sets me back on track. Knowing I have that self-discipline these days is a great reassurance and the guilt is like a wrist-slap!!! I still log everything I eat on MFP and will need to continue to do this for a long while yet.

With Christmas approaching, I decided to go back to 5:2/4:3 to lose a little extra in advance of being able to relax over the festive season. I don't want to be counting calories on Christmas day, although this year the mantra is definitely "moderation". Thankfully I'm not a huge lover of alcohol so one glass of Asti on Crimbo day will probably suffice! So far I'm about 2.5lbs down, hoping to get another pound off.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to run for a week due to extra work commitments, friend visits, a sore throat/lethargy and general Christmas prep so I'm delighted I've still been able to lose some weight as this was greatly assisted by the running in the past.

Will post again next month to let you know what "damage" Christmas does me! ;)
I'm glad maintenance is going so well for you, Domane. I'm sure I'll be asking for tips before long...
