Weight Maintenance

@Wendy Darling I'm sure you will get back to normal in no time. It is great to just go on an unplanned holiday and to h--- with the consequences. DH and I do this at times, life is too short and it is soooo nice to spoil ourselves at times. :like:
Keep going everyone! The end of the month is in sight! I am currently one pound over target but am not concerned because I am still within my two pound 'margin'.

Very pleased that you enjoyed your holidays, @Wendy Darling and well done on your Fitbit steps!
Just checking in to say that I am very pleased because this week I have been daily weighing, fitbit stepping and counting every calorie in MFP and it has resulted in me being back to the weight I was before I went on my 2nd holiday. I have lost 4lb this week (which as we all know was water and food in transit) so now I am only 2lb over target again. See what you can achieve when you put your mind to it? I have to say that daily weighing, meal planning and calorie counting in MFP is the way to do it as much as we don't like counting it keeps us accountable
Not a good month for me, my weight has gradually been going up  A couple of days ago it was 5 lb over my maintenance weight, quite scary as it happened so quickly. :shame:
I was in denial, even stopped using the tracker but after losing 2 lb in the last couple of days I'm back in earnest. Really looking forward to September and doing 5:2 for a while, I WILL get back to my maintenance weight. :shout: :struggle:

Edit. Correction, it was 6 lb over my maintenance weight - nearly half a stone! :frown:
Yes that's the way to do it, always good to have basic 5:2 available in case it is needed.
Lots of sympathy for your situation @coffeetime but glad to hear that you are feeling motivated again and that the pounds are shifting. :)

I am also struggling to shift some (holiday) gain, and am having problems with feeling hungry a lot on fast and non-fast days. So if I fast one day, I end up eating far too much the next day. Did 3 fast days last week and my weight was the same at the end as the start of the week. Carorees thinking I could be suffering the famine reaction, so at her suggestion I am having a week off fasting, eating just above TDEE, trying to eat low carb (hmm, not sure about the apple pie, custard and icecream for dessert today as we had a guest for dinner...) and see how I feel after a week. Must admit it is nice not to be fasting for the moment (though I do miss that empty tummy feel the morning after a fast), and to be having breakfast again if I fancy it. Just hope the weight does not increase very much, if at all...
I hope September brings an improvement @Sassy1 (for both of us), treat it as just a blip. As long as we avoid putting all of the weight that we lost back on again - now that would be bad! I stopped fasting after nearly a year on maintenance, it was OK for a while but then the binging started. It's so hard to get out of the habit but I did it before and I will do it again.
Good luck :clover:
Just about managing to maintain this month on 16:8 only, but weight has crept up only by a few pounds this last week, probably due to visitors staying and less activity on my part. I'll carry on as usual and keep a watchful eye. Must increase activity !
I have managed to maintain satisfactorily this month, not got a real routine going yet but I think I am starting to get there and have only needed 1 fast a week for most of the month. Next month may be more complicated as I have assorted commitments that don't lend themselves to fasting!
Interesting to read others' experiences this month. I started the school hols intending to run at least 3 x a week as I didn't have to fit it around work but only managed it for the first week! I haven't fasted at all this holiday. I have tried to leave my meal until as late as possible but then carry on snacking on peanut butter and nuts until I go to bed! I've also been an emotional eater for the last week, nerves about going back to school and my middle son has gone climbing in Morocco and is then going straight back to uni and not coming home. I always feel nervous about his adventures though he enjoys them fully. Oldest son is also looking to move out, trying to find a house share at the moment and youngest is just being a little difficult. The upshot of this is that I have put on a couple of lbs and need to get back to 5:2 and regular exercise this week. Can't fast tomorrow as I have an anniversary meal to attend but I will do at least one proper fast. Lucky it has only been a couple of pounds :)
I have managed to end the month at exactly the same weight as I started it - only a quarter of a pound over target! In between I have been plus or minus a pound and a quarter but this is still within the + or - two pounds of my target, which I allow myself. I am a happy bunny!
