Well I've arrived here rather suddenly after a 3 week plateau, followed by a 2 lb gain, followed by a 3 lb loss last week and a 2 lb loss this - now what was all that about?
Anyway here with a bump, but I have thought out a strategy. It's based on the model of the Atkins diet where dieters gradually add carbs back into their diet until the stop losing weight.
I am going to start by adding one hour to my eating window on one day of the week, just to celebrate the fact that I am in maintenance. In fact Dr Herring says that when you get to your ideal weight you can continue to do Fast-5 and you will not lose any more because your appetite will adjust - and he has been spot on about how I've experienced intermittent fasting so I do believe him but there's so much negative stuff going round about not getting too thin and so on that I want to try staying at this weight for a while and see what happens.
I will continue weekly weighing and if at the end of the month the trend is still downwards, I will add another hour per week to the eating window, if on the rise again I will knock an hour off. I still want the 19 hour fast on most days, so I will add the hour to one day until that becomes 16:8, then start increasing a second day. Sounds complicated doesn't it? Suck it and see. First evaluation around the end of July.
