Back to back fast

Hi all
Had a fast day yesterday and had about 700 cals so really pleased with that and thought I would be hungry today but just had some porridge (3.30pm) with some greek yougut and feel stuffed already :O so I think I will have a fast day to day as well.I do like porridge for breakfast as it keeps me full and stops me craving sweet stuff and I am still trying to get my xmas weight off!!

Go, you, @mariondot40! Back to backs always sound horrendous! I've never tried it but, unlike many on this forum, I am always ready for my breakfast after a fast, so I don't think I could do it! :starving: Well done! :victory:

I have never tried it either even though it works for some. I always imagine it would set my body out of control towards eating everything in sight the first and following non fast days.
Interesting how different we all are and I guess that's what works, finding our own WOL......

 Have done my very first back-to-back fast during Christmas holidays. Christmas eve was Wednesday and I had them Monday and Tuesday. Same again the week after with New Year's Eve. It went much easier than I had feared  Thought it to be really tough yet it wasn't. I will do a b2b on Thursday and Friday next week because I will have my weigh-in on Saturday (he he I crave for a good result in numbers after 4 weeks of not weighing... )

I change my fast days even without any special plans. It gives me the feeling to surprise my body and not get into too much (boring?) routine. Yet, of course, I am a newbie compared to so many of you. I will just follow my intuition in all that as most of you advice.

Happy fasting - however one does it. To do it matters most, doesn't it

I ended up doing a b2b fast in my 1st week of fasting because of social plans, and it was okay; I was shocked!

I think the trick is (for me) to eat very few carbs on the fasting day, because I think when I eat carbs, I'm hungrier the next day - that's my problem today. I had a sandwich and fruit for dinner last night. I was within my calorie limit, but I couldn't wait to eat today - very loud tummy growls!

Some people do very well with B2B for two days, as long as there are 5 days until the next B2B - it's the pattern used in the Harvie and Howell Genesis 5:2 clinical trials (and written up as The Two Day Diet). Some people aren't hungry the day after FD1 so it makes sense to leverage that for an easy FD2 if that suits someone.

I've never seen B2B fasts work on a sustained basis when people use them to recover from binges - or when they don't leave enough non-fast days between the periods of fasting. Even when people initially give positive reports, it usually turns out some time later that they used it to handle repercussions from binges that were originally contained to the weekend but started spreading into the week.

However, that's a very different matter to the B2B pattern that is adequately separated with non-fast days. It's good to see people who have positive experience of this. :)
