I never catch it and still haven't seen it!!
I might suggest to OH to watch it with me on SBS On Demand tonight - he's never seen it and while he's supportive of me fasting, it might get him on board too.
Yes, we came across it last night by accident and watched it. OH for the first time, so he was really interested but had plenty of questions, as usual!! He is reading the book now as well.
He is interested, as he reads the forum as to why people have moved away from the original premise and towards low carb, etc etc. MM recommended lower protein on fast days and more carby veg. SO confusing! I just go with what feels right for me!

I don't remember him advocating carby veg, just veg, but in any case, I think that all veg (apart from potato) is fine on a fast day because even the root veg are relatively low in carbs so you get plenty of filler for relatively few calories.
I think that most people on here who have adopted a lower carb approach are adding a reduction of carbs to the 5:2 because of slow weightloss. You have to remember that as a man who probably ate fairly healthily before, MM lost weight much more easily than a postmenopausal, hypothyroid, woman with a history of dieting and a sweet tooth will do!
Ha ha, so true, and I am all of the above apart from the hypothyroid! He only has to think about losing weight and it falls off him, the ratbag.
He is avidly reading the feedback to the ABC cholesterol program as well now. I shall expect more questions!!

I thought @caroees and @Debs that was me you were describing ha ha. Didn't think I would ever do low carbs again since Atkins and the resultant fatigue. It is so great to have high quality low GI carbs sparingly and when one chooses. Love 5:2
