Diet survey
09 Dec 2013, 10:40
Hello, All,

I've been reading here lately to research on diet plans for my blog, and I feel like I've learned a lot, so thanks.

I like how you share success stories and support each other.

My blog is completely un-related to weight loss, but we write for the 50+ and the elderly especially, and a lot of requests came for tips on how to lose weight when you're not so young and what works etc.

I like doing my research properly before I post something, this time I want to do something really good. So, we're doing a little survey and I decided to post here as well.

I know there are a lot of people in the process here, and many who tried and succeeded, or failed. You can really help me out with no more than 2-3 minutes of your time.

You can see the survey at: http://www.savtoosh.com/our-own-diet-su ... se-weight/

My intentions are really good. I'm not here to spam you guys, and I won't just drop this message and go.

I'll come back here every day to see if there's something new. I will answer questions, that's what I do :-)

To the moderators- if I did something wrong, please let me know. You know my email and you can also post here, I'll come back as soon as there's a message.

I'd hate to see this thread deleted because I really value this place and the people here. I'll do whatever you ask.

I'm really not in my comfort zone here, but I'm trying to do something good for my audience, I'll really appreciate your cooperation. Thanks.

BTW - if you have any tips that can help me with my research, please post them here. I'd love to see a discussion going on tips and diet plans that are good for the 50, 60 and 70 years old.

If you have something but it's private, or you don't want to share it publicly, I'm open to PMs or you can email me at: gianna@savtoosh.com

Waiting for you input.

Thanks,
Gianna.

Hi @savtoosh
I'm in your age bracket so have done the survey. I expect you'll be inundated with success stories and hope your survey will reveal 5:2 to be the best diet out there! I'd be interested to see the results...will you post a link to the findings when you have them?

I've done it too!

Done, Funny question about "how time consuming is the diet?" The "diet" itself is no time at all but this forum ... LOL very time consuming!

@Savtoosh, I did have a question about type of diet, one of the choices was intermittant, did intermittant mean intermittant fasting or something else? I chose "other" and described since I wasn't sure.

I've done it.

I had the same problem @Betsysgr8, I chose 'other' and typed in 5:2 although in reality this is intermittent. Another question that I didn't like was lbs or kg, here in the UK we use stones and lbs so I had to calculate my weight loss and weight goal. It asks if we will still want to carry on with the diet to lose weight, unfortunately as far as I know, other diets don't include maintenance which we can carry on with for the rest of our lives without losing weight. I wish there had been somewhere that we could have included comments about the diet.

Anyway, it's done now.

Thank you everyone who took the survey.

@carorees
Yes I'll come back here to post the link so we can all discuss the results. You had a little form where you could enter your mail though, we'll send it to everyone once done.
I'll also post the link to our Facebook fans and twitter followers. Feel free to follow us :-)

@Sue.Q and @PennyForthem
Thanks.

@Betsysgr8
The intention was intermittent fasting, but that's ok. Nothing will get lost. :grin: Maybe I'll change it to "intermittent fasting" in the survey. Do you think that's better?

@coffeetime
Sorry, I'll see if we can add stones as well. thanks for letting me know.
About the "carry on" question - it was meant for those who still didn't achieve their weight loss goal. I guess a better way to put it was "would you keep trying to lose weight" and then "with the same diet?", but we'll be able to notice those who met their goal.

I know it's not perfect, but I didn't want it to be too long and complicated, so people won't ditch us :geek: I'm taking notes of what you all say and we'll see how we can improve it once we have some more... data.

And guys, you have a place to comment about both the diets and the survey itself in the comment area, go to the survey's post again and you'll see it below the orange button.

You don't have to use your real name either, you can type first name only or even a nickname, as you wish.

I'd love to see you discussing about it, and maybe even convincing others to follow you. I'll take this info into account as well when doing the post.

@Marlin and @Chris P
Thank you. Feel free to comment as well, share your opinions with us. It will only make the research better.

Last words,
Please, share the survey with your friends. It will help us get the data much faster. You have the like and tweet buttons in the survey's page, it will only take you a second but saves us hours :heart:

Thanks again guys. Hope to see your comments in the blog, I'll be back. :like:

I completed it.

In addition to comments which others have left, I would like to state that my way of eating combines intermittent fasting, low carb, and vegetarian (mostly, but not always completely vegan). I struggled a little with classifying myself.

I've done it too, very quick and easy. Look forward to seeing the results.

Thank you for taking the time to do the survey @Auriga @jeninboston @CandiceMarie @Bracken @sassy1 :like:

As promised, as soon as I have the results, I'll let you all know. And again I ask that if you can, please share the survey with your friends.

@Bracken - You said you struggle with classifying yourself. I find that interesting. Do you think following a variety of diets combined with intermittent fasting give better results?

I'd really love to hear all your comments in the blog.
