I think BBT is a lady, I am Bob, and I am not a lady!

Generally though I do find your tone patronizing, and your attitude very Narcissistic. I know we should play nice, but come on, you ask for advice, then get it and dismiss it.

I have read the book, and in no place does it say that you should aim for "zero" on a fast day, it doesn't say it as it would encourage people with eating disorders to try and loose weight on it when they don't need to loose weight on it! Which believe it or not, we fatties care about!

I had typed a reply but it's disappeared, it was along the lines of I eat up to 700 cals, it depends, can be a lot less and it's all good healthy stuff, with some rubbish if I feel like it.

Finally worked out my TDEE thing - so 25% is 620 cals! Excellent.

Despite being a wee bit older, this (see link) is the sort of thing that I'm aiming for...so we're looking at a clean, paleo mostly + some carb diet with serious conditioning work.

Having done 35+ fasts, with a consistent and sustainable pattern of two meals a day and losing bang on average weight each week, I'm very comfortable with my WoE.

Sustainable is very important as it's going to be 2+ years on this and that's not a point to be underestimated.

Rufus, I get the frustration of people telling you not to "diet", as if being slim happens by accident! Maybe it did in my early 20's but at nearly 40 it takes effort. I'm doing this to get down to my target of 60kgs, and maintain it once I get there. Only 1.1kg to go for me, but it's the difference between a muffin top and not. It will be easier if you make your fasting days as comfortable as possible, and you'll be more likely to stick to it once weight loss isn't your goal. Good luck

More like 30 years for me as I don't believe it will be possible to keep the weight off any other way!

I think it does get easier as you figure out what your body really needs. I am on my 7th fast day since starting this March 1st. Today was the easiest so far! I am hungry now at 8:20 PM but will go to bed soon. I even taught yoga after work when I would have never thought I could put myself in a semi stressful situation while fasting. I think that the more you do the fasts, you figure out what works for you. Good Luck!

Yep, me too. But 2 years to get to a weight within my BMI...possibly.
