It won't hurt you now and then! Just enjoy them...
Agree with Jemima, enjoy them if it just happens sometimes. But if you find it happens quite often, maybe try to think why it's happening, it might be just boredom , if yes try to keep yourself busy, or it might be they were in front of you so you got tempted, so in that case maybe put them out of sight.
The same thing happens to me once in a while (a while being about a week!) but it doesn't seem to do any harm in terms of the weight loss. I had probably about 7 Maryland choc chip cookies on Saturday evening when we had company, and the weekend before I ate an inordinate amount of brownies, popcorn, shortbread and doritos when we had some other friends over. A splurge now and then is nothing to worry about, it's obviously something most of us have enjoyed a lot in our lives (or we wouldn't be trying to lose weight now!) and don't want to give up doing completely. 5:2 allows us to have a bit of indulgence like that with no guilt or negative weight loss consequences.
Haha, negative weight loss. That sounds much better than weight gain!

It sure does!
Thanks and well said...onwards and ever downwards
More and more reports coming in of people splurging and yet losing more weight than usual. I am beginning to think that the occasional blow out is actually beneficial...as long as it's not every day of course!
If you succomb to the urge on a regular basas (i do occasionally with chocolate)) then eat the biscuits and skip a meal to compensate.
