Where do you lose it first?
05 Feb 2013, 13:41
For me, always thighs... pulled jeans on today and I can tell I've lost...oh, at least a mm!

Last place to lose is my waist (or the area that passes for my waist! :? )

Where do you lose it first?

Definitely off my waist & unfortunately, boobs :( I had to buy new work trousers 3 weeks ago as mine were too tight, then I read Mimi Spence's article on line, started the fast diet, just put them on today & they're too big! :)

Same as Claire - my waist goes first (yay!) but my boobs usually go along with it. Actually I have to say that I've not lost as much off my boobs as I would expect to and I wonder if my more long term fat stores are being used up first as my legs are looking in better shape (slightly less tree trunkish!) than they would usually at this weight.

I started falling out of my size 16 jeans within a couple of months and am now falling out of my 14s... with no old 12s to fall back on, guess it's time to go jeans shopping again soon!

Same as Claire and Moogie. Like Moogie I don't think my boobs have shrunk as much as usual. I am finding some clothes are too big but am resisting shopping for more as I have a lot more weight to lose yet. Just looking out my collection of belts!

My bum! It's annoyingly the last place I need to lose it.
I have however had a slight decrease in my waist which is encouraging.

I shrinking off my legs so Ias I am an Apple shape I look like a barrel on stilts lol dropped from a size 26 to an 18 on top and a 20 on the bottom. ( Well I squeeze into a twenty, which is close enough for me.) I have run out of old clothes as well Its GREAT!!! :D

Fingers crossed then Moogie & Carorees that my boobs will not end up like rabbits ears!
Why did I give all my size 10 clothes away just before Xmas? What a damn shame if I have to go on a massive shopping spree once I'm at my target weight! :)

I seem to lose it from my thighs, because although I didn't measure them before I started, I tried on a pair of jeans which I have not been able to get into for 5 years, and while still snug around the waist, they are very loose around the thighs. Considering I couldn't get them past my knees not long ago, I'm delighted. I find it very motivating trying on old clothes, even though they look very old fashioned, it is a way to actually see progress. Also looking forward to clothes shopping in the not too distant future.

Waist first, then a bit from the face/neck, then the legs... after a while it starts going off generally all over except my waist - it seems that being male I'm still going to have a tummy bulge regardless of the state of the rest of me :)

Bellalou, I'm the same as you. Hips and tum both reducing but I don't need to loose off hips or I end up being a smaller apple rather than a big apple - soooooo annoying. Legs have lost a bit and upper arms and back. Boobs stay the same till the bitter end. Always been big boobed!

Well, we don't lose it from our wallets, do we? :D

It's the diet industry that'll be the losers - why pay good money for WW or SW when you can come on here or Mumsnet - and not only do it for free, but actually save money in the bargain?

Yes I agree B&W.

This is the year nobody makes any money from my fat!

Except annoyingly, I just remembered I spent £5.99 on The Fast Diet Book.

Well - apart from that! And no blooming diet food either! Enough! :x

Off my face and boobs most at first, then generally all over except, of course, from round my tummy. Originally, I targeted 9st 8lbs but having got there, my fat ratio is still a bit high so I am aiming for my 'ideal weight to height' of 9st 3lbs. The down-side is that as the weight goes off my face, so more wrinkles appear but as I feel so much fitter, it is worth it. There is an old saying "widen or wizen" and as the health effects of widening are not good, a bit of wizening must be the better option. Wave if you pass a flat chested, wizened old thing in the street, it might be me. :-)))

I started measuring 3 weeks ago as I started 5:2

6 fasts done, 8lb loss to date, and

1 inch off bust
0 under bust
3 inches off waist
1 inch off abs
1 inch off hips
0 top of thigh
1/2 inch off above knee
3/4 inch off calves
1/2 off arm above elbow

I am also getting back into running with a 5k plan which helps ....

I am happy so far - am 5'4 ish and very slight frame so still a long way to go .....
