New Clothes

Wondering what the consensus of opinion was here.
I've had to move back to a belt I hung up about 4 years ago as i've run out of notch holes on the one i'm using. (Yes I know i could easily get the cobbler to add a few extra holes).
Trousers are now starting to look a bit "baggy" with nearly 1Stone lost but my goal is to loose 3Stone in total.
Is there a vote for an interim wardrobe update or just to stick it out until i get (very) close to my goal weight.

I've lost 3.5 stone so far, but only dropped one size, down to 16. I've got another 2 stone to shed and am hoping to make a size 14 - I'm hanging it out as much as possible. Though I've had to buy new jeans and a few new work clothes as I was looking a bit like a clothes horse!! However, I'm trying to hang it out as much as possible - that way hopefully I'll be in the next size down AND buying for the warmer weather (if it every reaches our shores!). Guess it also depends on the £s spare for an interim set. My daughter gets back from 8 months travelling next week - I'm tempted to buy a nice new top to meet her at the Arrivals Gate - she'll be so surprised to see her slimmer mum, t-shirt tucked in jeans etc! It's a lovely dilemma to have, isn't it !

I think men are outnumbered on this forum by about 9 to 1. So you're probably asking the wrong people.
I don't have your problem as yo-yo dieting means I have just about a full wardrobe of clothes at each size from a 16 up to a 24. It'll be nice to take them to the charity shop tho' as I shrink!

I'm with Izzy on this.
I don't need much of an excuse to go clothes shopping anyway, so a 1 stone loss would definitely have me hitting the shops!!

Thanks for the replies, actually i though this was a bit of a gender-neutral question. I'll probably hold off until the last possible moment or until I think continuing with my current trousers becomes a bit comical.
I did manage to find a 10 year old pair of jeans at the back of the wardrobe that now fit so happy about that.
Suchard - nice to have your daughter back!

My trousers are really baggy and now being held up by a belt. However, I'm reluctant to go and buy some new ones, because I'm worried that if I go in a clothes shop and I still can't get into a smaller size, it will be too depressing!

I don't know if you are a bit sniify about Primark. But you could make use of them just to tide you over while you're shrinking?

Nice!. I hadn't thought of that, Matalan & Primark would be ideal.

Yep I'm with suchard on this! Holding out for warmer weather and another dress size down! Found some old trousers that are doing for now plus big belt on the others. Most of my tops are stretchy so can accommodate a range of sizes!

My OH who isn't on a diet has gone from 12 to 11 stone (in sympathy) and his trousers were falling off. He's just bought some 32" jeans this w/e and they look loose...so he's had to get a better fitting belt too.

However, the 34" looked awful so I'd say get a cheap pair (Asda) and then hang out for the 3stone for more expensive stuff.

I'm like Catscratch in that I have a range of sizes in my wardrobe.

I am rediscovering size 14 trousers - some of which I bought when slimmer but not quite slim enough, kept to slim into and never lost the weight but got fatter. Its great to be able to wear them now.
I have been scouring the sales that seem to be on all the time at the moment but really should wait until I lose a bit more.

EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! You could buy lots of lovely (nearly) new things and then sell them again when they're too big for you! I have some lovely clothes from Ebay - don't knock it!

Well, I wouldn't buy a new wardrobe but I'd definitely go for a new pair of jeans! Buying a new piece of clothing in a smaller size will give you an energy boost like no other!
Primark, New Look, TK Maxx even Tesco would do for me...

Sorry, I meant Asda not Tesco, LOL!
