Welcome @lovemyparrot we've had a day of feasting, I've just had a snack of some Christmas pud with brandy sauce and a glass of baileys on ice. Enjoy your day
Up for the US shift now. mulled wine, champagne, poinsettia cocktail anyone? :drink: :drink: :drink:

For UK buddies we have Baileys and dessert wine.

We had three bird roast for lunch and managed a small portion of Village Bakery organic Christmas pud . Very nice it was too. Needed a sleep in between mind.
carorees wrote: Hope everyone's having a lovely day. I put the gravy and sauces on the table but forgot to tell you all! A bottle of red wine went into the gravy so it should be pretty tasty!

Got a tablet (kindle fire) for Xmas so am just testing it out!
........."..........

So, thats where that missing bottle of red got to @carorees ?

I'm a bit late to the party, it's been a funny old Christmas so far but very pleasant. It seems like a Sunday but with a good dinner and drinkypoos, I'm feeling a bit squidgy as I rarely partake, I leave that to OH. Hubby behaved very well and even sat at the table with us and ate all of his dinner, he hardly eats anything at all usually and is gradually turning into a skeleton, so it was good to see him enjoying his food. I'm just having a glass of ginger wine atm while waiting for Doctor Who, my son doesn't like the same TV programmes as me so we are compromising, he gets to watch his favourites for the rest of the evening. I'll catch up with the rest of mine later in the week.

There was just one blip. I made a nut loaf which turned out well, but I bought the Christmas pud, I must have picked up the wrong one, it turned out the be a chocolate pudding - not a nice one either!

Tomorrow will be busy as we will be joined by my daughter, her partner and three children and my son's daughter. Absolute wonderful chaos.

Must go, Doctor Who is just starting.

Merry Christmas all xx
The Christmas party has been enjoyed by one and all I think.
Everyone's hard work has ensured we've all had a slice of laughter, a sip or two of fun and a bite of the cherry.
I don't like to drink with lunch, but managed 2 glasses of a very nice white Bordeaux and the rest is in the fridge. Oh I had a liqueur coffee too.
Still too full to eat or drink another thing!

Charades, anyone?
Sounds like a lovely family day @coffeetime, so glad everything went well for you all xx
Thanks so much for staying awake @rawkaren - think I'll start with a poinsettia cocktail and then move on to champers :drink: :drink:

So glad you had a good day @coffeetime !!!!! :like:

Hope the weather is good in OC. Happy holidays!
Loved the quilt @wolfie and I just kept on reading your blog. Wow what a nice place to spend some time appreciating your creativity. There are scissors you get attached too, mine are for paperwork so I understand and hope you find the new ones as serviceable as your old faithfuls.

Oh do enjoy your January appointment and keep us posted, sounds devine
Hi, just stopping by for a moment to see if the party went well - clearly it did! Also to wish some of us a happy Boxing Day. At our house we had a discussion about what exactly that is... Some of us thought it might have to do with the sport of boxing, but others of us knew better

We had a wonderful feast - another turkey, since the Thanksgiving one was so delicious. Eleven of us here - a treat in itself. And my son, home after half a year on the other side of the world, bringing his girlfriend, also from the other side of the world, and gorgeous presents from their travels and from her family. It's quite amazing how a girlfriend can make a 21 year old guy mature...And they are obviously in love, which is very sweet to witness.

Having the 20-somethings (6 of them) here is honestly as much fun as the little ones I was watching at the virtual party. Just different. Really not in any big rush for grandkids. Honest!

See you all soon.
Wendy
Hi wendyjane. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Seems like it went fairly well in here. Could do with a hand with the washing up though.........
Happy the birds were ready BEFORE my epic fall :like:

Obviously, it was not the cup of mulled wine that is responsible :dazed:

Wonder if there are leftovers ?
Good morning Boxing Day! Three offspring with their families coming today at different times so it's busy and happy.
Have a good day everyone :0)
A huge huge thank you to all of Santa's little helpers, pixies, elves and fasters. I hope you all had a wonderful time, even with bumps and bruises sustained while tripping over, not having had any mulled wine... naming no names @Manderley!
You did a wonderful job! Your turkey basters, recipes, corkscrews, pots, pans and rubber gloves can be stored safely until next year.
How many of us do you think there'll be then?
We'll have to get @Juliana.Rivers to open her Christmas club early again, so we can all shape up!
Like @AzureBlue we have offspring today, so if I thought I was tired yesterday, think again!
Happy Boxing Day everyone and @Wendyjane the expression, as far as I know, comes from the old term of receiving a Christmas box, often of money, and when I was growing up it was quite usual to be asked what I had received in my Christmas box. Now we just get asked what Santa brought us or something similar. Had a lovely day with friends and like last year I had only my lunch and that was it and I feel great for it. Tonight our local is having a lock-in for the locals, invitation only, and a fuddle. In plain English that means that although the pub is officially closed, the landlord and lady have invited some locals to bring their leftover food for a communal buffet and also to bring our own drinks, hence, we will be 'locked in'. That should be good fun. Just about to take Mrs H home and when we get back I will give this place the blitz of its life. Wendyjane, how is your mum doing? I hope all is well.
