@CandiceMarie, I hope your ipad feels better in the morning.
I just sang Brahms Lullaby at a nursing home. It was somewhat redundant as some of them were already asleep! Never mind, the ones who were awake seemed to be enjoying themselves. It's very satisfying when they join in the singalongs.

@CandiceMarie that was hilarious, loved it  Hope your iPad isn't too poorly...

I'm taking a break from icing an exhibition cake. I've committed to a design in royal icing as nobody else in my guild likes doing it, and now I'm reminded why I don't do much even though I love using the stuff. REALLY hard work on my dodgy wrists. The machine can mix it but paddling out all the air bubbles and coating the cake is all difficult angles for me and painful  Hopefully the piped bits will disguise how bad my coating is. I don't have a problem using a piping bag once I've paddled the icing... I need a minion!

Lovely day on the sea front here in Kent and I'm out for a late lunch with a friend in a while. It will be nice to let the girls loose on the beach after school

Know what you mean about the wrists, Winsome. I've just hand prepped a batch of piccalilli. Yes, I could shove t through the processor, but I like to see it looking traditionally chopped, like Mum did it!

@PennyForthem I know exactly what you mean! I make a soup with red lentils, carrot and onion which is super easy BUT the texture just isn't right if I don't dice the veg by hand. Using the processor is quick but the soup isn't as good. I tend to make a huge pot as I figure I might as well suffer once for a big batch and fill the freezer. I have cheated today and made butternut squash soup by roasting the squash whole so that I can scoop the flesh out rather than peeling it and chopping it into chunks. Higher energy cost with the oven but lowest cost to my wrists!

Bah humbug! The car purchase fell through. It needed much more work than was evident from the photo's. No hard feelings on either side though as the seller was upfront with most of the problems, he just hadn't detected one problem that would end up causing us problems down the road.

It was nice day out, but in our sons car, so no air con and today was a hot day.
