Not much happening here today,just chilling with DD..SIL gone off to Day 3 of his new job.
Staying with me, he only has a four minute commute,walking from here to his workplace!
Bit different from the long London commute he's done for years..
When they move into their new house,he will have a peaceful bike ride,cycling along the riverside,take maybe 15,20 mins..tho i guess on wet days he'll take his car.

@CandiceMarie My brother's birthday is the 13th Dec so when we were kids Christmas never started till after then. Mind you, in our family the tree didn't go up till Christmas Eve.

Hi folks. Had an email from the bootcamp I went to for a while - they've started one in my town now (I used to drive 12 miles each way to it 3 times a week). It's quite expensive but I don't know whether to just go for it to get me back into exercise............it's very intensive though - which is difficult when you're as big as I am but if I don't I can see me carrying on as I am - all of a dither!!

Feeling well enough to go back to work today. I was going stir crazy after 3 days on my own. Hope to be back in the gym tomorrow although I think my cold might be finally coming out so maybe not. Let's see! @nursebean Great avatar!

Pleased today..i'd finished my John Lewis tea and cake vouchers...lady in bistro told me i wd only get more if i bought something in JL..
However i havent and didnt,but some vouchers have just come thru my letterbox anyways! Whooooo!

Met a friend for lunch in Liverpool today and was bemoaning the fact that I had used my last JL voucher in July so couldn't go for free cake and drink today and wouldn't you know, typical sod's law, when I got home postie had delivered a fresh lot of vouchers!

I am learning to use the knew laptop I received yesterday but couldn't plug in before this morning. 8.1 is really a pain you know where..... BUT the good knews is that I have an application that gives me access to all UK TV channels and boy that makes me happy ! You see, I hate our French TV (I don't have one for nearly 10 years now) but always love UK TV, even the news, but it was impossible to get them here, when you went to the official sites, like the one from the BBC or ITV, you couldn't watch anything as it was blocked for other than UK watchers. I must admit, there must be a lot of nostalgia on my part, but still

Hi @manderley. Feeling better today thank you. I agree with you about FrenchTV - why all the quiz shows? I watch UK TV in California all the time plus other channels from all over the world. I have a VPN account which basically means that they can't detect your IP address. It's not that expensive and you will be able to get all of the latest BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky stuff. BBC is best because you can download whereas the others are live streaming which can be a pain unless you have superfast broadband.

Thanks for the links, I may have to use them for my dad's laptop. I have something that came with the laptop, which gives access to a lot of channels, a lot from the UK from what I saw. You can download them or watch live. I am a big documentary nut and there are loads of them, even a WWII channel, which is great.
Don't know if it's a program available for other pc brands but just in case, here's the link

French T.V. is dumb. Really. I mean, there are lot of quizz, some 20 something years and, I am so sorry to say that because I will sound like an old lady but, it way way better before, in the old times, when we only had 5 channels. Now we have 10 more, I think, and it's just rubbish. Even when I go to my parents house I can't find one thing interesting to see !

Had a bit of issues with windows update, had to reset 8.1 3 times but after 2 days, everything is fine, at last..... I will keep my old laptop for basic tasks so this one will follow me everywhere. Also, I can't get rid of stuff, even my very old 12 years PC (not a laptop) is still working, my dad uses it everyday. It works just fine, even if it does quite a lot of noise sometimes
