There is a meet up every year of some kind or another amongst the mums of multiples I know through a multiples forum. Mostly it's a weekend such as this November when we are off to Derbyshire, but there was also a week long holiday last year in Spain.

hello everybody, sorry, I've been AWOL, too. Lots going on and I feel as if I have little to offer to the forum at the moment.
I'm still maintaining though.
On a positive note, I won a Great taste award. 2 stars. Perfection! Must aim for 3 next time - 'Wow, you must taste this'! Very happy with 2 though.
I think I've caught up with your news and send everyone virtual and huge hugs!

@rawkaren @Wendy Darling et al, now got new specs. Sooooo much better they are varifocals and hadn't realised how much my prescription had changed! Everything super-clear, including the dust ! Also got second pair, which will double as sun glasses, as they have transitional lenses.
Did some shopping too, as last opportunity to trawl the sales. Another dress from Monsoon - for £16.50! Size 10! And a cardi, £17, size 8!!!! Also another cardi from East, size 10, £30.
Did have a big try on in Hobbs, Karen, but nothing was quite right ...

@Azureblue I went on Hols with the in laws and daughter to gran canaria a few years back. Left hubs and son at home. It was even out wedding anniversary. we all survived.
@nursebean that'll be somewhere else I can go visit then.
@Winsome were off to Florida at Easter, staying in five hotels, as we want to see a lot. Info greatly received. I hate theme parks btw but have to do it for everyone else. I'm looking forward to space center, Florida keys, Miami beach, Everglades and Naples.

Sue.Q wrote: Welcome back @Winsome Well you've had a very different holiday no wonder you only had a small gain well done now you can catch up on some sleep and more importantly relaxation.
@Azureblue My mind had been going down the same path as yours recently re:: holidaying alone without OH yes mine would survive but don't think he'd like me going off without him but he takes mini breaks without me!!! -------- are all men selfish?
My sister goes off without her OH she goes with friends and sometimes daughters I suppose I could go I with them for a trial because we do all get on very well together.
Watch this space who knows? Or maybe you and me lol
Wouldn't it be lovely to get loads of members gathering together at a very classy 5star spa and pampering girly holiday.
@Sue.Q
Re the spa----I'm in.
@silverdarling. Sounds like you have been spending again! I need a Hobbs fix - nothing like that here.
I also have had my lenses changed in my glasses. They call varifocals 'progressives' here - will save me from peering over my lenses in a meeting like a school teacher. I also splashed out on some prescription sunglasses (Dior), as I spend more time reading in the sun
I'm suffering from vertigo at the moment (just diagnosed yesterday). It's very disconcerting. I hope it's temporary. So @sue.q and @carieoates, a spa would be just the ticket!
Only a week to go and coming back to Europe for 3 weeks! 2 weeks in the UK and a week in Mallorca

@rawkaren vertigo is something I suffer from many times. You've just had an infection so it's prob due to that. I get it for no reason at all sometimes. Hang your head off the end of your bed that works a treat for me.

Spa
Face down or up?
Sideways...
Lay on your side, hang head off end. 20 secs, you should feel like someone has picked you up and is flinging you round like a rag doll.
Turn do it on other side.
Warning -----you may feel a bit nauseous, but that's a good sign.

Spa holiday it is then @rawkaren @carieoates & me I'm sure @Silverdarling @Wendy Darling we'll have a list a mile long very soon.

Be careful with that vertigo. I had a virus 30 years ago. Very dizzy and I lost my hearing in my left ear. If you feel something is wrong, get thee to a doctor!
Spa? Did someone say spa?

Oh yes please. Never been to a spa (except cp)
I had an ear infection years ago that made me as dizzy as anything. Was very scary as it remained undiagnosed until after it cleared. Had it for about 6 weeks and a locum gp sent me for counselling because I kept going to the doctors and telling them that there was something wrong in my head. It was even making me have panic attacks. In the end I went to a private ent consultant and he reassured me that it had been an ear infection. I did actually feel it pop and drain one day and was instantly better after 6 weeks. If I ever get it again I will try carieoates trick. If you haven't experienced it, I hope you never do because it was vile.

From NHS choices web site:-
Labyrinthitis is an inner ear infection. It causes a delicate structure deep inside your ear called the labyrinth to become inflamed, affecting your hearing and balance.
Symptoms of labyrinthitis include:
dizziness
vertigo – the feeling that the world is moving or spinning around you
loss of balance
hearing loss
The symptoms may be quite severe in the first week but usually get better after a few weeks. However, some cases can have much longer-lasting symptoms. This can have a major impact on a person's quality of life and their ability to do everyday tasks.
I've had this three times. Horrible.
