Re: CHATTERBOX CANDY!!
15 Apr 2014, 16:40
Hi all, if I seem a bit ignorant about peoples woes, please excuse me, i haven't kept up with the news. I've been buzy. Today is the pressure washing of the patio, with one BBQ under our belt already. I will put the pictures up tonight (if I can remember how again).
Healthwise I'm still hunky dory, today i seem to have a closed up throat again, but I won't worry about it until its been going on a few days. I'm still finding walking to be problematic and may have to start a program of walking around the village to ease it into proper use again.

I tried a fast yesterday and sort of failed, as in Xmas pudding and cream failed. But, it was a good solid 20:4 with a pound off this morning, so I'm happy. Tomorrow will be another 16:8 as we have been invited out for a meal with friends who I haven't been able to travel to for 2 years and now I can, yippee!

Its amazing how constant creeps up on you and the debilitation that goes with it. I just keep on being amazed at how different I feel all the time now. Especially now I am doing the progressive weaning from the Tramadol painkillers (nasty withdrawal effects). Once I'm clear of those I can start weaning from the Pregabalin (nerve signal suppressants) and once I'm off both I should be able to start shifting the weight at a decent speed again. My daughter is coming home early August and we will be going on holiday straight after, so I have another target to aim for.

Hugs to those that need it and a few spares extra for the taking.

I was wondering how you were doing @Julieathome. You seem to be doing amazingly well. Xx

I've now decided what my shop will sell...children's books! Now all I have to do is think of a name for my little shop...hmm

Hi there @Candicemarie, Hillsborough is very poignant for me and especially now with the enquiry. I was in Sheffield when it happened and lost a friend Tracey Cox, with whom I shared a house when at uni. One of only three women to die. I used to go to Hillsborough regularly and went to see Liverpool and Wednesday one day adn remmeber feeling absolutely terrified by the crush and the crowds prior to it happening. How tragic that it took something so horrific for the fences to come down and tragic that they were needed in the first place.
I hope the families get the answers they deserve as the way they were treated was criminal.

Morning/evening all. OH is pale, tired, lost weight and struggling to breath. The deterioration in two weeks is quite something. Two weeks ago he was diagnosed with an atrial fibrilation, but within a week he now has left side heart failure too. We are not sure if it is the AF that is causing the left side to fail or whether it is something else. His heart is enlarged and he has water on his lungs as the heart is not pumping strongly enough to clear it.

He is on day 7 of betablockers and water tablets, but we are not sure how long they take to kick in @carorees, would you know?

He has an echocardiogram next Wednesday and then the cardiologist on Thursday. Everyone tells me that this is very resolvable, but makes it hard with the long commute. At the moment, we are working on the basis that he needs an Afib cardioversion, but we need to get to the bottom of the left side failure first.

Be interested to know if any of my forum friends have experience of this.

As ever, he went to work this morning!

@rawkaren I can't help with any of your medical questions though it might be worth looking at the British Heart Foundation website. They have all sorts of useful articles and maybe able to advise you. I really hope you get it all sorted out; I can imagine it must be extremely difficult being on a different continent and worrying; so glad that you are able to come home and help him. Sending love and hugs. Claire

@rawkaren thanks for keeping us updated. A very worrying time for you both and your families. So pleased you were able to come home straight away to be with him. Hugs x
Well, it's glorious here and I stripped the bed, put the sheets in the wash, opened the liquitab pack... empty!! Oh yes, they're on the order... arriving tomorrow!! doh! never mind, I'm out on about on deliveries this afternoon in the beautiful Welsh countryside (visiting Bala!) so washing will have to wait until I can get to the stupormarket on the way home.

@rawkaren you have my sympathies. It's so hard when you're not quite sure what is going on and what needs to be done. Hard for the patient but stressful for you too. Take care of yourself. :clover:
